Same, never understood the reasoning for having games overrun into each other.

Exactly, especially when you consider that all those late games are always almost finished an hour before the Sunday night game comes on. With this change now in place, there shouldn't be much run off if any at all now.

also in that same boat. never understood why they would even take a chance of overlapping games when pushing the start times for the later games is so easy.

glad they finally did it, even though it should have happened sooner.

The reason it wasn't done before was almost certainly due to the game cutting into 7 PM programming.

With the NFL's TV ratings these days, it can pretty much do whatever it wants with regard to its programming, but it hasn't always been that way.

that makes sense, I honestly wasn't thinking about how it could have effected other programming on the back end.

Am I the only one who is such a sentimental traditionalist that I was disappointed to hear about this even though there is no practical reason whatsoever not to do it?

You are not. Though I think I got over the disappointment entirely as soon as I read the rationale behind it and convinced myself that it really, really doesn't matter. Laughing

I'm happy about this. Denver always plays late, and I've seen my share of games run into by the 1pm game running long.

I was honestly expecting some Goodell bashing in this thread.

Should have just bumped it back to 3:30 right away. Nice even numbers are better Smile
