Am I the only one who sees another 3-13 season? I will be shocked if the Vikings win more than 5 games.

I see another 3-13 season but with way more optimism for the future than we had at the end of last season.

I predict we'll see lots of improvement at several needed areas but not enough to string together a decent amount of wins yet.

I see 3 as worst case. 8 as best case. It is a bright new day, and without injuries I think predicting 3 is thinking we have no talent at all and we do.

I'm saying 7 wins.

One little thing that gets me excited is that we are going to have the possibility of seeing 2 rookies start at safety, and they played next to each other in college. I think it could make the learning curve a little easier just because they should have a better idea of what each other are doing and capable of having to make up for.

Rookies starting on Defense is the new thing in the NFL... look at the Texans with Watts and Reed, they gave their defense a new character

Most of you know that I do not have much faith in the current regime, but we could easily be 6-4, possibly even 7-3 heading into the bye week.

That would be huge. We could come out of our bye on a serious run if we're still pretty much all healthy by then. (Knock on wood)

The first two games are very winnable and if we take advantage, well I'll just say, momentum is an underrated aspect of the game.

The Vikings are going to finish last in the division. They've lost their last 11 games against division opponents and could easily go 0-6 again. You don't close a gap like that overnight.

That would mean they'd have to go 5-5 against the rest of the NFL to finish 5-11. 5-5 would mean that they're an average NFL team, and they are not, they are below average.

You're looking at a 4-12 season. Don't be deceived by the narrow losses....most games in the NFL are decided by a TD or less so most teams play a lot of games that could have gone either way.

The worst defense in the division. The worst QB in the division. I don't see how that translates to a better w/l record.

4-12 or 5-11 seems like a realistic outcome.

It's really hard to tell, though. The defence will be hard-pressed to be average with gaping holes at DT and LB and potentially a couple of rookies in the secondary.

The offence, too. Setting aside the QB issue, there are a ton of question marks along the OL, the receiver corps and at RB. I'm not sold on Bill Musgrave as OC either, as he did a lot of strange things last year.

I do think that the Vikings will win at least one division game this year. They should have won both Lions games last year, because a stupid penalty on a kick return cost them the first game and a non-call on a facemask probably cost them the second. They would have won the second Bears game too but for a blocked FG, another botched FG attempt and a freakish turnover.

I think people forget how good this team was despite no offseason, QB controversy, and losing 8 or 9 games by 7 or less last year.

If we have gotten better, I think 5-11 is the floor. Who knows after that. I don't trust the guys running the show all out, but I do see the talent we've acquired over the last 3 or 4 seasons. We're not scrubs, although our record and mood from last year would suggest.

I just have a feeling we are going to get monster years out of Harvin and Rudolph.

Teams will still eat us alive in the middle of the field but I like our DB's much more than what we ran out last year.

Yes the Vikings are the most underrated team in the NFL. We were not a typical 3-13 team last year. We lost 9 games by 7 points or less and we had the lead quite often. We got no breaks and the ball didnt bounce our way once. That will not happen again. We were also injured all year and played the majority of the year with 50th string DB's.

This team is much improved and barring another injury plagued season we should be competitve in a majority of our games and win about half of them. 8-8 for me

It's nice to be optimistic, but I'm going to be realistic instead. This team is a mess. I see another Top 3 draft pick in our future.

I was listening to Adam Schein and Rich Gannon on Sirius NFL Radio today. Schein is probably the biggest, most biased Packer homer in the entire media, and as much as he loves the Packers, he hates the Vikings almost as much. This is why it was even more disappointing when I found myself agreeing with him when he he proclaimed the Vikings "the worst team in the NFC." I don't know about you guys, but I sure can't think of any teams that are worse. About the only one team in the league (NFC or AFC) that is down on our level is Jacksonville.

Sorry to be a downer, but that's the way I see it. We will win anywhere from 1 to 3 games this year.

MN got a fairly easy break in terms of scheduling this year. There are a lot of winnable games against teams who are about on par with the Vikes. I dont think the Vikes are as bad as a 1 to 3 win team, there is still a lot of talent and with the secondary healthy and Cook back, i dont expect the defense to give up so many big plays as they did last year.

that was really why the vikes were so bad. they didnt have the offense to keep pace with some of these offenses, and i think the defense has a lot of good pieces to atleast be a top 20 unit. This team is far from being a playoff contender, but I think .500 really isnt out of the realm of possibilities. Of course a lot depends on Ponder progressing, and that is something that is nearly impossible to predict. You dont need a great defense, just an effective one.

Schein is an extremist, and considering he's a media type from NYC, I highly suspect anything he says, because they typically have a bias against anything west of Appalachia.

Anyway, I see these teams as still being worse than the Vikings in the NFC:

St. Louis
Seattle
Tampa Bay
Arizona
Washington

I think the talent on the Vikings is at least on par with these teams, if not slightly better.
