| Not really sure I understand the Cedeno signing. Why not just keep Kozma on the roster? |

| Been watching some Stan Musial stuff on the Cards website. Got to say, Bob Costas almost had me in tears. |

I think they'll both be given a fair shot, along with R. Jackson. It's depth, and it's cheap. Cedeno's also a more known commodity. You know what you're gonna get. It won't be great, but it won't be terrible. Kozma was very good last year, but he could bomb out this year. Again, it's competition. Doesn't hurt. _________________

Never put too much stock in performances from April or September |

No I'm not. But Cedeno sucks too. But what tttmikeb makes sense. Competition doesn't hurt. |

Oakland got SS/2B Jed Lowrie from Houston today for essentially a few flamed out prospects...
Would have liked to seen Mo make a move on him. He could have helped our middle-infield right now for a favorable price... _________________

The big winner in this? Shelby Miller. Barring injury or complete ineffectiveness, he's going to get that #5 spot in the rotation. Adam Wainwright, Jaime Garcia, and Jake Westbrook are assured rotation spots because of salary. That means that the last two starting pitchers are going to likely come down to Lance Lynn, Trevor Rosenthal, and Shelby Miller. There really isn't much in terms of starting pitching on the free agent market sans Kyle Lohse. Joe Saunders wouldn't be the worse, but I'd have to imagine the value/$ won't be worth forcing Rosenthal or Lynn out of the rotation.
I'm almost positive the starting rotation will look like Wainwright/Garcia/Westbrook/Lynn/Miller. _________________
