|
|
|
In an effort to keep things organized (and less of a headache for Boltstrikes, Drewby, and myself), I figured it best to lay out a few parameters in advance. Most of you vets should be familiar with all this, but we've had some fresh meat show up in the past couple months and this is for their benefit.
First and foremost, everyone needs to remember that the Forum Rules still apply even if you're unhappy about what transpires. Feel free to express any excitement or frustrations, but do so appropriately. If you need a refresher on what is and isn't kosher, kindly consult here.
To ensure optimal accessibility I encourage you to BOOKMARK THE FORUM PAGE in your web browser before Thursday if you have not already done so. During the draft and in particular during the first round the site has a huge influx of members logged in and frequently Webby has to go to a static page in place of the standard Index page due to server issues which will make it take sometimes a few minutes or more to get to the forum by navigating in from the home page. A direct link is your best route.
We will have one draft weekend discussion thread for general discussion; in case you hadn't guess by now, this would be that thread. I would also like to thank Duffman57, who has volunteered to create individual draft pick threads this year after each selection for discussion centered specifically around that player. All other such threads will be locked so as to reduce clutter; so please wait for him to create the appropriate thread before doing so yourself. As schedule may dictate on Day 3, we may require someone to work in his stead, though BS and I will likely just assign that out as needed on the day-of.
New this year, I am asking specifically to the members also following the draft on Twitter - PLEASE refrain from posting who the pick is before it's announced on TV. Last year several members expressed being frustrated with having the pick "spoiled" for them. I'd like to avoid that this year if at all possible. There will be a thread for "News as it Happens" (or whatever you want to call it for those who want/need to know things as soon as they possibly can) in the NFL Draft sub-forum.
Most of all, everyone have fun with the draft this coming weekend, as it's the culmination of the part of the NFL season that brought many of us to the site in the first place.
Anyone with any questions please PM me.
Thanks guys.
This thread will remain locked until a few hours prior to when the commissioner officially puts KC on the clock with pick #1. _________________

It's really hard to ever like the first pick of my rivals. _________________

That trade the Raiders just made will go a long way towards rebuilding that franchise. _________________

AntonioGates reporting for duty.
I wouldn't be dissapointed if we landed one of the two OG or Fluker, but I think it is much easier to find quality players at those positions in later rounds. If we add a NT, corner, or even inside linebacker at the # 11 spot I'm happy. Happy if the front office trades down too.
Raiders got bad value for the trade from 3-12. But they need that 2nd pretty bad so I can see why they did it. |

Miami got poor value with that pick. Thank you Eagles for making sure San Diego didn't panic and overpay. _________________

Jason Peters should also be hitting the open market soon

Not a fan of Dion Jordan, or do you mean the trade itself?

Is it wrong I am hoping Detroit takes a WR right now? _________________

No, not at all
Who thinks Cleveland's going to do something dumb here?
