|
|
|
Let me start by saying that I AM IN NO WAY WHATSOEVER SAYING THAT MCCARTHY IS THE NEXT RAY LEWIS. Ray is considered by many (including myself) to be one of the best if not THE best linebacker to ever play the game. This topic just hit me today, and I was interested in seeing how these two University of Miami products compared in their rookie seasons. So I looked it up and figured that I would share it with you....
Ray Lewis
height- 6'1"
weight-244
Games Played: 14
*Games Started:13 *
Tackles: 110
Forced Fumbles: 0
Passes Defended: 6
Stuffs: 0
Sacks: 2.5
Interceptions: 1
Colin McCarthy
height- 6'1"
weight- 238
Games Played: 13
*Games Started: 7 *
Tackles: 68
Forced Fumbles:2
Passes Defended: 3
Stuffs:7
Sacks: 0
Interceptions: 1
Obviously Ray Lewis's tackles completely Trumps McCarthy's (largely due to the difference in the amount of games that they each started), but what intrigues me are McCarthy's Passes defended, forced fumbles, interceptions, and stuffs. They aren't that far off and in some categories McCarthy had better numbers. Mind you Lewis started almost twice as many games his rookie season as McCarthy did. This comparison really has me excited for McCarthy's potential. I really hope he is able to build on a great rookie year. _________________

Means literally nothing.
I love McCarthy, but using this logic you could compare a ton of LB'ers to Ray Lewis. _________________

Hmm I always thought Penn State was running back U.
Oh well. I guess technically there are at least half a dozen schools who claim those names for each position _________________

It is highly disrespectful for you to compare someone like Ray Lewis to a linebacker of McCarthy's caliber. _________________

I still think Thug U is more fitting. _________________
