lots of people predicting Sean Smith to virtually lead the league in INTs (2011 high was 7, and 23 for PDs), thats a lot of optimism for a forum lightning rod like our man

He has shown stead improvement with his ball skills since he entered the league. His rookie year he didn't have any at all, his 2nd year he only had 1 or 2 and last year I think he had 2. He is locating the ball much earlier now and he is putting himself in position to make these plays. It's only logical to think that the progression will continue. Not to mention we have a DC who has had great results from his secondary for several years now in Cincy

The 6 I predicted may indeed be high, but my thinking is that Smith is better than most people think, and that QB's when throwing will opt to throw on Smith before Davis. That should give Smith a few more opportunities, and I think he will be coming into his own this season. Intererstingly enough, coaches and players suggest that Smith lead all DB's in INT's in the OTA's. So, wishful thinking, perhaps, but its also some calculation involved.

oh absolutely. Playing corner and capitalising on opportunities comes with experience, even playing it at the level I do (Irish Amateur!) you can see the leaps and bounds that dbs take in coverage from year one to year two and so on

You make a good point Merc, Smith does have a shot at being a game changer this season, lets hope he is up to the task.

Actual stats. How did you do?

Brain Hartline- Yards: 1083 Catches: 74 TD's: 1

Lamar Miller- Yards: 250 Rushes: 51 TD's: 1 Cataches: 6

Cam Wake- Sacks: 15 Tackles: 53 Forced Fumbles: 0

Ryan Tanney- Att: 484 Comp: 282 Yards: 3294 TD's: 12 INT's: 13

Sean Smith- Tackles: 59 PD: 12 INT's: 2

I was the only one who predicted Tanny would start from day one. Although I may have been a little over the top about how he would do on my predictions. I was pretty close in yards, but his TD to INT ratio and completion percentage were a little off. I thought Lamar Miller would get more carries than he did and to be honest he should have.

Overall not bad :

Brian Hartline : I nearly nailed reception yards and catches, however I was way off on TD's.

Cameron Wake : Again nearly dead on for Sacks and Tackles, Off a bit on forced fumbles

Lamar Miller : Rushing yardage and carries nearly perfect, receptions I over estimated

Ryan Tannehill : I was way off on attempts, completions and yardage as I didn't have him taking over till later in the year, only thing I was close on was the td/int ratio.

Sean Smith : Once again close on Tackles and PD's and like the other players overestimated the last stat.
