Other than Stamkos who would you have over Giroux? _________________

Personally, I would have my top 10 as:
Crosby
Malkin
Stamkos
Datsyuk
Weber
Toews
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Giroux
Ovechkin
With Chara, Lundqvist and Doughty just on the outside.
Nothing against Giroux either. _________________

That is absolutely ludicrous. Weber, Toews and the Sedins ahead of Giroux? Claude is many times more dynamic then Henrik or Daniel, already. Toews is great, but doesn't possess the same skill level as Giroux, and Weber, well, while a great defenseman, one of the best, doesn't compare to Giroux. Tough comparing forwards/defenseman.
1. Crosby
2. Malkin
3. Giroux
4. Datsyuk
5. Stamkos
6. Eberle
7. Tavares
8. Toews
9. Richards
10. H.Sedin |

Wow, that is just horrible. So you'd have Daniel and Henrk Sedin who don't play any semblance of defense and still get out produced?
Like someone mentioned Toews is a great two-way player but his offensive skill pales in comparison.
I think the only guys I'd willingly take over Giroux are Sid, Malkin Datsyuk and MAYBE Stamkos. Even then, all of these guys still have flaws. Sid can't stay healthy, Malkin is very mediocre in his own zone, Datsyuk is old and has been nicked up a lot lately and Stamkos while dynamic isn't nearly the playmaker or defender that Giroux is. _________________

I wonder what the Sabres are going to do with their 1st round pick Mikhail Grigorenko, I hope they keep him up in the NHL becuase this is a shortened season, it would be real good experience _________________

I dont think its a stretch by any means to have Giroux out of the top three. I love his two way game, his playmaking ability and his leadership at a young age. But he's not the dynamic goal scorer that others like Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos and Daniel Sedin are, but I think he will get there in the next year or two. Right now, Henrik and Datsyuk are the only other playmakers I would put ahead of Giroux and I believe Toews is the better two way player right now. As for Weber, imo hes the only defenseman in the league who can shut down anyone night after night, which has a ton of value in today's NHL.
Giroux is only going to get better and better. But he hasn't had a 30 goal season yet and other guys I have ahead of him have been consistently playing at high levels over a longer period of time than Giroux. Claude's skill set will get him there, but Im not ready to put him in the Top 5 yet. _________________

Well they're going to give him his 5 game tryout, I'm excited to see how he does. Although I hope he is horrible on opening day _________________

1. Sid (boo)
2. Malkin (still boo)
3. Datsyuk (GOAT amirite)
4. Giroux
5. Stamkos
Top five is pretty easy imo. Obviously going forward there are a bunch of guys above Datsyuk but I'd only take the two Pen's losers over him today. I'd take Giroux over Stamkos in a heartbeat, even though I love Stamkos's game. Sedins > Giroux = lolol _________________

I really want to see this kid do well. It's not fair he had to deal with all of that manufactured criticism. _________________

He's the guy I really wanted the Penguins to take with their pick from Carolina when he was available. However, offensive defenseman Derrick Pouliout is having another very good year in the OHL. _________________

Grigorenko is a lock for 3rd line between Leino and Ott.
Vanek / Hodgson / Pominville
Foligno / Ennis / Stafford
Ott / Grigorenko / Leino
My top 9 predictions |

Going into the season with Cody Hodgson as a #1 Center. Ballsy move Buffalo. _________________
