The Bruins have coveted Keith Yandle for quite a long time. I would be very surprised if Don Maloney wasn't getting multiple phone calls from Peter Chiarelli and co.
Fantastic trade for Philadelphia. Acquiring the 45th pick for a goalie with no future with the team is pretty impressive. Aided by the Lindback trade, though, but Homer pulled off a very nice trade for the Flyers here.
Looking forward to an exciting night in hockey. This is one of the best nights of the year. _________________

Tim Thomas waives no-trade clause
| Fluto Shinzawa | Boston Globe wrote: | Several teams have inquired about Thomas’s availability. GM Peter Chiarelli said those calls have been in relation to the cap floor, which currently projects to be approximately $54 million in 2012-13. Even if Thomas doesn’t play next season, an acquiring team could apply his $5 million annual cap hit toward its total number. Thomas is due $3 million in salary.
Chiarelli didn’t disclose the identities of the teams. Colorado, Nashville, and Phoenix currently project to be the bottom three teams in terms of cap commitments toward 2012-13. |
Thomas moved his family to Colorado recently. It doesn't matter since the Bruins can deal Thomas anywhere now, but an interesting piece of symmetry. Hopefully the Bruins move Thomas this weekend. _________________

Flyers going to pull off a stunner tonight.
I've given up even trying to keep up with the rumors at this point, it seems like they're involved in virtually anything being discussed, although I love the Bob trade. He has a great potential, but a veteran backup would be more logical for our club as currently constructed. Should help out Bryz a bit too IMO. _________________

Martin Biron's a free agent July 1. He's played in Philly before, he's a veteran, and he's a very good backup. He makes too much sense for the Flyers. _________________

IMO we get Nash tonight, I want Pronger though. Preferibly I'd get Parise rather than Nash if we had the cap but no. _________________

We have Pronger, guessing you meant Weber?
I'm guessing Ryan is one of the names the Flyers really want. Homer and Clarke love the kid, and have been trying to trade for him for years. _________________

Weber is what I meant, yes. But didn't we basically have a deal in place with Columbus a while ago for Nash. _________________

No, it was reported around the deadline we offered Bob, JvR, Read, and picks for Nash, and now we don't have Bob to trade. I doubt he's the guy.
Not sure what it would cost for Ryan, but with a lower cap hit, his ties to the organization make him the more likely fit. Its reported they want Schenn, but it seems like were not going to move him. That said JvR, Nick Cousins, Matt Read, potentially Jakub Voracek and even Wayne Simmonds that could be moved, as well as #20 and 45.
I'm not sure what the value would be, but I'd have to think they could come up with a fair group for Ryan from that group. _________________

Visnovsky to the Isles for a 2013 2nd rounder.
Got to admit that is a very nice move for the Isles. Visnovsky is a great puck mover in the back end. He and Streit on the PP could be deadly. _________________

Mike Ribeiro got traded to the Caps for Cody Eakin and their 2nd rounder. Not good value for him IMO. _________________
