Ive been bumping a lot of Meek Mill/Kendrick Lamar, both are dope as hell |
i like kendrick. meek is too mainstream |
Ughhh cmon NC, you only dislike Meek because he's too popular? Popularity or being mainstream should have nothing to do with whether or not you like an someone's music. Just don't listen to the radio everyday and you won't have to listen to the same songs everyday. |
i havent listened to the radio since i got my first car back in 1999
meek's lyrics are hella generic and simple imo.
kendrick has complex major flow. im into lyrics more than beats. |
Ok. Now THAT I can understand. You made it sound like the only reason you disliked him was because he was popular.
I'm more of a beats and flow guy, as opposed to lyrics. So I understand where your coming from because a lot of my friends are like that. |
mainstream doesnt equal popular.
mainstream imo are artist who sell out to fit a certain image just to sell records like wiz. lyrics are a lost art in my book. seems like artist are hungry and go hard untill they get put on then they just put it in cruise control.
also if you know how to work the eq you can make almost any beat bang. |
+1
I care more about the flow and beat guy like RaisinBran, but I cant stand some of the lyrics you hear in the more popular or mainstream songs today. Its like they dont even try because they know the song will make money either way.
I remember hearing that Gucci Mane song "Breakup" on the radio a while back: "Now baby girl had dumped me, she no longer wants me. I'm no longer hired, she said that I've been fired" LOL what? Thats the best they could come up with? Guess it doesnt matter whn all the chicks and teeny boppers will still listen to it. _________________

Well you said Meek is too mainstream, yet he has never changed what he raps about, and hasn't changed his style since his first mixtape. I have no idea why you called him mainstream then. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

Aight I gotchu. Most of his songs do have generic lyrics... not gonna lie. Some actually have some deep meaning behind them though. But his flow, aggressiveness, and confidence is what I like about him when he raps. And obviously the beats are great. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

Yup. One of the scariest games ever made IMO. Very well done, simple, and creepy as hell. Tried playing it at night once with all the lights turned off and hooked it up to my home theater 7.1 surround.... that was fun. _________________ Bah-Weep-Granah-Weep-Nini-Bong

Calling Hip Hop heads!
Anyone remember some rapper in the 90's who had a sick mixtape with a song that might have been called "Realm of the rythm"(that's how I remember the hook anyways when I was a kid)? I think his name was giovanno or giovanni. idk for sure....
Randomly remembered one of his songs today, but can't find ANYTHING on the web.
Any help would be cool. Dude was ill. _________________

Verlander dominated the A's. Not an A's fan just didn't want to hear you guys talk about it all month. Plus we get to cover up the diamond.
Still bitter about my Dodgers. _________________

You can't. Dodgers actually have championships.
