The placebo effect. You think the shoes make you jump higher so you do in fact jump higher.
If a shoe is lighter, has better grip, and protects your feet and ankles it can have a big effect on how you play on the court. _________________

I also really want to get the Jordan 28's that are coming out in a week to play basketball in. I've heard they're going to be the lightest and best Jordan's overall in terms of on the court that have ever been released. They're not that nice looking but they're different. |
I think I'm the only female on earth that doesn't give two shiz about shoes. You sneakerhead guys make me giggle. I feel like I'm reading a math equasion with your post
Seriously though, do you think a shoe can really make an athlete/average joe preform better? I think it's all just a money gimmic. Now if the shoes had springs or rockets attached then yes. |
imo the right shoe can make or break an athlete. i only wear high top jordans and nikes when i play basketball. i only wore nike cletes in football or baseball. if you try to play in the wrong kind of shoes dont be surprised if you roll a ankle or something. jus sayin |
Haha well I know that... I mean you don't want to go running a marathon in flip flops what I mean is do you really think shoes can make you run faster and jump higher to such a significant amount? We need muthbusters! |
lol ive seen people dunk in socks and run fast in house shoes. no one is perfect and they make shoes with more lateral, grip, heel, arch, ankle support to help perfect your imperfections. sometimes making that cut faster makes a lot of difference. sometimes getting that good grip or extra support helps you jump higher or plant better. so i say yes a shoe can help you run faster and jump higher. but in vice versa it can hurt you also imo if you have the wrong kind.
im a shoe junkie and there is nothing better than the feeling of a perfect shoe
i love griffeys, the deions , jordans , old skoo bo jacksons felt lovely, the shawn kemp kamakazis were the only reeboks i could wear, the jordan vin bakers, spike lee jordans, any nike shoxs, the vince carters, barkleys, lebrons. _________________

the perfect shoe allows you to focus on the game instead of the shoe not fitting right, laces slipping etc etc
its like tires on a car. sure any tire will work but would you put any old kind of tire on your car. _________________

Well it's been fun but this place is a joke. Just got a PM from a mod asking me to do something that no one else is doing. This is the second time I've been called out for [inappropriate/removed] that I've done that everyone else does too.
Seems like everyone can get around the rules except for me. PM me if you want to know what other site I'm on.

Nothing personal mods just think if the rules are going to be strictly enforced that they should be enforced to EVERYONE.

The forum awards are always a pretty good time. I would definitely be in favour of having them again this year! _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.

Why do you think I didn't do the awards?
PS - I'm watching Lars and the Real Girl before Workaholics. _________________

Good job of acting by Gosling, but I wasn't a big fan of the movie. It was pretty meh for me.
I've been on a Gosling spree lately. Crazy Stupid Love (don't care if its a chick flick, I like it), Drive, Lars and next up is Ides of March. _________________
