It's time to start adding proven talent to this roster. Add Hamilton, trade for another bat, and let the young talent continue to develop.
If the FO does that, I think we're only a year away from being a true playoff contender. |
Agreed. Add Hamilton and trade for Upton/Willingham. Willingham only if he's at a decent price, obviously.
Go in with something like...
C: Jaso/FA/Montero
1B: Smoak
2B: Ackley
SS: Ryan
3B: Seager
LF: Hamilton
CF: Saunders
RF: Upton
DH: Montero _________________

Yeah, Hamilton + Upton is my dream scenario.
I like Willingham as well, but I'm not sure about throwing him out in the OF everyday. If we traded for him, I'd hope he would be viewed more as a DH. (With Montero taking over at 1B)
We would probably have to overpay, but I wouldn't mind Alex Gordon either. Though that would make us pretty LH heavy. _________________

Yeah, I'd pass on Gordon. They'd probably want an arm and a leg for him.
Hopefully by mid-season we'll get a look at what this team will look like in 2014.
Barring trades.
C: Zunino/Jaso
1B: Montero
2B: Ackley
SS: Franklin
3B: Seager
LF: Hamilton (Hopefully)
CF: Saunders
RF: FA/trade
DH: Montero/Trade/FA
Felix
Hultzen
Iwakuma
Paxton
Walker
Capps
Wilhelmsen
Furbush
Pryor

Would we have to give our top two picks if we were to sign Hamilton+Swisher? _________________

| Quote: | Mariners president Chuck Armstrong told Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com that Seattle has interest in Josh Hamilton. The Mariners are “looking at” the free agent outfielder according to Armstrong.
"We are going to have more money to spend,” he said. “And we do need offense."
The Mariners are still considering many options at this stage in the offseason, Armstrong added. Meanwhile, Phillies president and CEO David Montgomery acknowledged the Phillies are considering Hamilton (Twitter link). "I don't think there's a whole lot we're not considering," Montgomery told Heyman. The Phillies, Orioles, Braves and Red Sox are among the teams that appear to have interest in Hamilton.

We are now the owners of the largest display in the entire MLB.

Yeah, it's still slightly smaller than the one at Cowboys stadium, but still, biggest screen in the MLB to an already beautiful park. Pretty good deal. _________________

I would love to see how they make and install those giant screens and what it takes to run them. |

I believe it goes up in tiles. What it takes to run them is a different story haha. _________________
