Well, we can just throw this start out for Taijuan, basically. Three balls hit in the air that should have been caught turned into singles because of how wet the grass is.

2 IP, 3 hits (all singles on flyballs), 1 ER, 1 walk, and 2 K's so far.

Good to hear.

Looked like a poor start based on the boxscore.

He got hit with a liner on his throwing hand in the first inning too, probably why he's having some trouble with his control.

And now another single on a should be caught fly ball. They need to just take him out, it's a joke. OF'ers are on skates.

Covering the Mariners tonite. Wedge just announced Felix Hernandez will return to rotation Tuesday against Padres.

Said whether he went Sunday or Tuesday he would get six starts before All-Star break, so decided to let him two more days rest.

Coming back vs. the Padres should allow him to come back nicely.

Danny strikes out the side swinging. Feelsgoodman.jpg. 16.2 scoreless innings in a row.

He's so boss, hopefully they let him try to finish. Only @ 94 pitches.

Unless we can't get anything of value for him, I don't agree with this. I wouldn't be mad or anything, but it's better if we get something of worth for him. Not a fan of extending Vargas when we have:

Felix
Hultzen
Walker
Paxton
Erasmo
Carraway
Noesi
Beavan

Or just let Capps dominate for an inning. Cool

As far as Vargas goes, I agree it's all about his trade value. Unless we can get a prospect with everyday upside I'd extend him as well. With Paxton stumbling a bit, we could use a proven #3/4 starter for the next few years at that price.

Wouldn't want him at anything more than 3/21 though.

3/21? You don't like this deal?

$20.5 million for -1.5 WAR/season.

Laughing

Millwood's been really good in 5 of his last 6 starts.

May be able to get us a good relief/platoon prospect.

No hitter through 6 and has to leave because of some fluke injury.

I would say I'm surprised, but it's just typical M's crap....
