Well, we can just throw this start out for Taijuan, basically. Three balls hit in the air that should have been caught turned into singles because of how wet the grass is.
2 IP, 3 hits (all singles on flyballs), 1 ER, 1 walk, and 2 K's so far.

Good to hear.
Looked like a poor start based on the boxscore. |
He got hit with a liner on his throwing hand in the first inning too, probably why he's having some trouble with his control.

Unless we can't get anything of value for him, I don't agree with this. I wouldn't be mad or anything, but it's better if we get something of worth for him. Not a fan of extending Vargas when we have:

Hultzen
Walker
Paxton
Erasmo
Carraway
Noesi
Beavan

Or just let Capps dominate for an inning.
As far as Vargas goes, I agree it's all about his trade value. Unless we can get a prospect with everyday upside I'd extend him as well. With Paxton stumbling a bit, we could use a proven #3/4 starter for the next few years at that price.
Wouldn't want him at anything more than 3/21 though.

May be able to get us a good relief/platoon prospect.
