If Gabbert improves, I don't really see us going just 6-10.

That said, I like the selection if it indeed does play out this way.

Refreshing to see a mock with the Vikes not finishing in the top 10, I think that is something most fans should begin to accept Wink

Its hard to say what direction the Vikes go, if they are happy with Ponder's progression.

I see four positions of need for the Vikings in 2013, but much depends on the progression of rookies this year.

Those four needs are WR, CB, MLB and DT.

While you gave the Vikings a DT, I dont think he is the right fit for what the Vikings want. They need a player to replace Kevin Williams, as Letroy Guion will be playing at NT. Certainly, Guion could play poorly, but I dont think they go with a massive type like him. Id prefer a guy like Kawann Short.

MN could also go CB, though it may not be a first round need. MN does play a Cover 2 scheme, they can probably get a good CB in round 2 for their scheme. I like Cook and Robinson though, so one more CB outside of those two are likely needed.

WR is another need that may not be if Childs and Wright play well.

I think you are on the right track in terms of drafting defense, specifically in the middle of the defense. MN did a great job shoring up the back end this offseason, but they really need help at DT and MLB going forward. My ideal draft would be a big, athletic DT in round 1 and an athletic and sound MLB in round 2, assuming the young WRs and DBs perform well.

7-9? Ouch. Giants haven't been that back in 7 years.

I can dig, David would be a perfect off man zone corner, much like a Rashean Mathis.

As I posted in the team needs thread, there are likely to be three positions under consideration when the Falcons select: TE, RB and DT. The 4th possibility is LT.

Because we draft for need, we are relatively easy to predict. CB is well stocked with Grimes, Samuel and Robinson, and while one most likely leave for cap reasons, we have two promising developmental prospects to play the nickel. While we may well re-stock the cupboard in the mid rounds, as is Dimitroff's style, we will not be using a 1st round pick on one.

On a different note, it's pleasing to have season predictions that do not follow the same tired cliches. I would be very surprised by those Kansas City and Cleveland results though.

Even if the wheels do fall off of Cassel (Does he really have any wheels to begin with?) we won't finish 1-15. We might/probably would be better without Cassel behind center.

Either way QB is a good pick. I like Tyler Wilson though.

Its wrong bc the Titans won't go 5-11. 7-9 will be the lowest. It's even funnier that you have Jacksonville and Indy over us. I do like the Mingo pick though, but you don't have to worry about us picking top 10 or being last in our division.

gotta give credit, some of the team rankings and finishes were good for a laugh.

that being stated, if Jeffcoat is in black and gold in 2013, i'm a happy camper

don't wish to derail the thread, but it's silly that they won't, and it's silly that 7-9 is somehow their floor.

injuries happen.
