Finally brought myself to comment in this thread.
I've been in this daily since... since...
I don't want to talk about it.
Suffice to say, the only thing I wanted to win was eliminated by the girliest, fruitiest, most frat boy beer imaginable. My rage was unfathomable. To avoid ban, I stopped posting. I have been hitting the finest of Irish Black Lagers tonight, so I come to you, with a final statement of regret. Consider it a concession speech.
Know only that I am disappointed in you, my children. I have worked very hard to instill a sense of beer greatness in you. The truly noble beer way was paved in the streets of Carlow, of Dublin, of Waterford and Cork. Here in America, it was made possible by Naugatuck, by Boston, by New York and New Haven; Philadelphia, Buffalo and Baltimore with their fine Irish American communities helped spread the greatness. It was my hope that you, the followers of the finest, the apostles of the Star, would share in the quest for alcoholic greatness that embodies the Irish Stout.
Alas, you have failed me.
You chase your pale lagers and drink your light beers, never pausing to ponder the stain that you spread with your fruity beverage. Like a plague bacillus, you propagate your disease, until nothing good and noble stands in the way. Yours is the way of destruction, not greatness; you follow your false idols, never pausing to contemplate your actions. It is times like this that I am reminded that the way of the Ancient Greeks is flawed, with their immortal gods constantly on watch. No, it is the way of the Norse which guides us to that final turn in life, known to all as the last reckoning, that final journey into the darkness and void from whence we may or may not ever return. For the Gods we know and love are but mortal themselves, destined to fail in their fight against the evils of this mortal world. As they fight vainly against the tide, they are joined by the valiant warriors who stood beside them, standing tall in the halls of Valhalla. But alas, they must face their eventual reckoning, just as my lead horse in this contest has faced.
Ragnarok awaits us all. The end of worlds in nigh. The fight against the most evil of enimeis is waning, and like Thor against Jörmungandr we, the loyal apostles of all that is righteous and good, must give ourselves, our lives and our legacies to the end of times in order to hope to forestall it. And this will not work. It is a dark time, Ragnarok.
The Norse may have been right. They join the Mayans and Quetzalcoatl hand in hand, as the end of days marches forth.
Guinness has lost. And so, I fear, humanity has been lost as well. I shall go out with sword in hand. I will not be a party to the end of times; rather, I fight it, alone if I must, as honor and the glory of Odin dictates.
Perhaps Ernest Hemingway said it best: Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee.

First, I hurt Matt's e-feelings by kicking Guinness out of the tourney. Now, I have driven Ace to question humanity. This tournament has officially been a success. _________________

In the Final Four, Jack and Coke defeats Blue Moon Beer by a score of 5 to 0 and Jack Daniels beats a B-52 Shot by a score of 4 to 1.
We have an all Jack finals. Who will reign victorious? Jack or Jack and Coke? Vote now!
