We aren't built for 16 games, let alone playoffs. Unless the rookies and no name depth can pull an Antonio Gates I just don't see us having a good year. The offensive line is a mess and although I like the defense there isn't an impact player on that side of the ball that will come through on a clutch 3rd down in the 4th quarter.
The 90's were baddon't get me wrong but Seau, Harrison and Means gave me more hope then just hoping Rivers can carry this team. I will believe Gates is healthy when he plays a full season, at this point I can't count on it. |
The Chargers have to have the worst medical staff and conditioning staff in pro sports. The Vincent Brown injury was a fluke play, but someone is not doing their job correctly. We draft guys who seem to get injured all the time, we have free agents come in and get injured, and we have guys come back sooner than they should or later than they should.
Either the medical staff is not evaluating players properly, or AJ is just gambling and drafting players who get injured often, or San Diego has the worst luck in the NFL.

Thats not me. I'm optimistic for this season because all 4 teams in the AFCW appear to be equal or close to it. Now, one team could vastly surprise one way or another, but I think all 4 teams finish with 7 to 9 wins again. |
Yeah, sorry, confused Boltstrikes and you cause of the jersey.
My football (soccer) team in Germany has an awful medical staff and I can tell you it really is annoying. The two teams I follow the most always get hit hard by the injury bug. At some point you just resign and do not even expect someone to stay injury free anymore _________________

Soo, not much goes on in this forum huh?
anyways, as for preseason week 3, nice win guys. No major injuries, and its football, so how can you not be excited?
Both teams need to improve, but good win, nonetheless. _________________

Nice attempt at a smug jab. Sorry to disappoint you but we have a smaller population of Charger fans on FF - as most of us, unlike some other members, don't claim allegiance to multiple teams.

I was just happy we didn't sustain any more notable injuries. I was worried half to death that someone who had been out injured like Gaither or Royal would make their return this week just to get the reps only to end up with some horrific season-ending tumble. _________________

Quote: | Waived Roscoe Parrish (WR), Jason Barnes (WR), Phillip Payne (WR), Taylor Embree(WR), Eddie Brown (DT), Nick Guess (LS), Michael Hayes (RB), Brad Taylor (TE), Phil Trautwein (OT). Reached injury settlements with Garrett Brown (DT) and Michael Toudouze (OT). |
There's the cut list for the first round...
Parrish i a slight surprise, as is Embree/Hayes, but i didn't expect either to make the 53 man regardless. _________________

I wonder what we will do with Willie. He's looked awesome and I hope we keep him. If we waive Green at the cutdown next week, I will be so mad. |

Watching the Vikings game, right now....
Some thoughts from the 1st half:
Battle was bad in pass protection, and Hester offers more in the running game IMO.
As bad as Harris and Molk were (and they were bad), Hadnot was on the same level... he had a LOT of mental mistakes, and at least Harris and Molk are rookies...
Parrish was awful and is no surprise he was cut. Being outplayed by pretty much anyone doesn't help...
CASON IS BAD!
Really fed up with his no-coverage play.
Really like Cattouse on ST, he is such an ace!
P.S: Where's Gilchrist? |

Call me nuts, but I think (especially with the fact that VB won't be back till at least the later half, probably later third, of the season) Willie may beat out Goodman. RG has shown that he really doesn't provide much in the way as a receiver (he certainly hasn't shown the ability to play both inside-out like Willie has) and has, I would argue, largely made past rosters based off his S/T ability. There's considerably more contributions coming from elsewhere on the roster now on S/T with gunning coming from Wright, Battle, Gilchrist, and Hester (Norv would sooner cut off his right arm than cut Hester) and I have to believe Goodman's fallen below the likes of Royal and Spurlock, with guys like Cason and Gilchrist also being capable of fill-returners. _________________

Chargers preparing to play week 1 without Gaither.
This team's health staff is so freaking stupid. |

I think there'll be some great battles in the last game:
Battle vs Hester
Goodman vs Willie
Novak vs Kaeding
Sperry vs Green (and there's a chance they both are out)
Presley vs Gatson
Cattouse vs Bird vs Gachkar (in ST) |

Hester should definitely be around over battle. Battle can't run well without a lot of blocking, doesn't play FB, and isn't as good on ST.
Willie is miles ahead of Goodman to me
Kaeding has this one no doubt.
Green should be a lock for this roster. You don't let that kind of talent slip away.
Pressley gets a lot more love than Gatson.
Gachkar should win. More athletic and Cattouse would be a heavy liability at S. |

Sho'Nasty has to capitalize. Raiders only beat the Chargers when we get in Rivers face. Regardless, Rivers gets 500 on us _________________
