What would Pat fans think if the Pats drafted Webster at #32? I would love to see him in a Pats uniform. The Pats heve become my second favortie team behind the saints because of all the LSU players they have. I know Bill Belichick loves those LSU defenders that Saban has groomed. What are yall's thought on Travis Daniels, Marcus Spears, and Lionel Turner becoming a Patriot in some way. Daniels and Turner could be taken in rounds 3-7, while Spears and Webster are most likely rounds 1-2. I'd love to see more LSU players on the Pats than any other team. |

The general concesous around here is that we would like to see wbester in a patriots uni, but we shouldnt draft him in the first round. But I would love to have him, he has alot of potential _________________

There is no way we trade up to get Spears.
Only way I would take Webster is if he is there at pick 64...
Daniels would be great with our third pick...
Lionel Turner will be great with our 7th rounder...
Anybody know which round our compensatory pick will be in for losing Washington, Woody, Hamilton, and several others? Anybody have a guess?
I think 4th round... _________________

It'll probly be a 4th roundr, or a low 3rd, but thats extremely unlikely.
Maybe we could mucle our way into the mid second round and draft him, that would be ideal. Unlikely though _________________

I have CW going to NO in the second round.
If we trade pick 32 for picks 40 and 104 I would jump up and down with joy...We could draft Webster and get another pick...idk lol _________________

Corey Webster is the friggin man!!!
If i was making the decisons for the pats id try to trade down from 32 to get a pick around 40-45 and a 3rd rounder which would be around 72-77
So we hold says 42,64 and 74. With our draft results in the 2nd and 3rd rounds i think we can get the first round talent in there....think Branch, Wilson ,Samual was a 4th.
Using the first pick to take Webster, then 64 on the best LB available and 74 on a Guard. _________________

Now that I think about it, that could very well be how it goes down. And we have a history of getting production from everything after the 1st _________________

That's what im saying....
When i sat down and thought about it i just realized that we don't need a first round pick. We do very well in the 2-5 rounds.
I have no complaints with having all those picks.

Also Green might sign with CLE so we get their fourth rounder, and they also might trade for Davey...this will get weird...trade their fourth and Davey back to them for their third and fifth? Something like that... _________________

| The pats could trade for 20 7th round picks if a team was allowed to have that many and still field a team that went to the playoffs |

Just remember that Givens was a 7th rounder and Brady was a 6th rounder... _________________

Picks, plural.
The NFL has a formula into which they use to determine compensatory picks. It includes the value and length of the player's contract while on your team and their amount of playing time and then factors in the value of the contract which they signed and the amount of playing time they players received on their new team. Then they add in the contract values of the UFAs you signed and the amount of playing time those players received and, when all is said and done, they come up with a value. Those values are scaled and weighted across the league and then picks are assigned.
I'd say that the Pats should most likely receive 4th and 5th round picks and maybe a couple of 7s. The league does NOT like to give out any first-day compensatory picks and typically reserves those for teams who have lost free agents designated as transition players. For example, Kansas City will receive a 3rd round pick for losing John Tait last year. Much like Cincinnati got a 3rd round pick for losing Takeo Spikes the year before. _________________ FF Member #1031 |
