With the 77th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:

Miami OT Seantrel Henderson

Note: Perhaps a surprise pick as this team already has Russell Okung as our franchise LT, just inked RT Breno Giacomini to a nice deal, and still have 2011 1st round RT James Carpenter recovering from a torn ACL. But Henderson provides WAY too much value at a premium position here in the mid 3rd to pass up on. He is a goliath of a man that brings a powerful frame that offensive line coach Tom Cable should be drooling over. With Okung's knack for injuries in his first two seasons, we found it as a blessing to land Henderson this late as a stud backup to Okung. On top of that, he can immediately challenge Giacomini for the starting RT spot with his immense amount of talent, allowing us to push James Carpenter inside to guard to make our offensive line unbelievably talented from left to right. This is a team now in year 4 of this project, and we can already starting selecting BPA as our we essentially void of any needs.

With The 73st Overall Pick In The 2013 NFL Draft The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Select Joseph Fauria, TE, UCLA

Quote:
Are TE position wasn't are weakness but it sure wasn't are strongest position. Winslow played good for us last year leading the team in receptions and yards. The probelm with him is that he didn't like are new coaching staff coming in and he didn't even show up at OTA. Now that we traded him to Seattle we signed Dallas Clark. Clark isn't what he used to be he has lost his step because he is getting older. From what I have heard is the Luke Stocker is going to be are furture TE and now a days there are teams getting and having a 2 TE set. Fauria is the tallest TE out of this bunch in 6'7. Getting him in the 3rd round I think is some decent value. Since we got Martin/Blount/Smith are coaching staff wants more of a power running game and Fauria is a decent blocker. This is his senior year so he can still improve in the block range and not only can he block he is a quality receiver scoring 6 TD's with 481 yrds.

SoS, I'm pretty sure Tampa will go another way with their pick. So can you post this for me?

With the 83rd pick in the draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Landry Jones QB Oklahoma.

With a name like that, he is destined to be a Dallas Cowboy.

With the 84th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select S Hakeem Smith, Louisville.

GM Jerry Reese: "We came into the draft knowing we need a safety and though Hakeem Smith wasn't the highest rated safety on our draft board we are fully confident that he will be able to come in and impress us. He's a good athlete and we are very happy that we were able to grab him."

With the 85th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select QB Aaron Murray, Georgia

We were very worried when the Cowboys drafted Landry Jones that someone would pounce on Aaron Murray, but thankfully that did not happen.

The football reasons for our decision:

Positives:

Has an over-the-top throwing motion along with a very quick release
Footwork is already very polished and looks natural dropping back and moving in the pocket
Knows how to look the safety off and goes through progressions if receivers are covered
Is a very accurate passer when throwing to all levels of the field
Throws a nice spiral and has enough zip to fit the ball into tight spaces
Ability to throw accurately on the run will be very appealing to west coast offenses
Sells his fakes very well on the play-action pass
Very confident and makes decisions with the ball quickly
Competitiveness on the field is outstanding; plays with a lot of heart
Athletic enough to escape defenders and gain yards on the move
Plays in the SEC against some of the best defenses in college football
Cadence has led defenders to jump offsides

Negatives:

Does not possess ideal height for an NFL quarterback
Durability could become an issue (reckless and exposes himself to big hits)
Ball security is an issue and has had some fumbling problems
Was forced to redshirt as a freshman due to a shoulder injury

With the 87th pick the Philadelphia Eagles select Carrington Byndom, CB, Texas

The Eagles would love to grab a Safety here but none are graded high enough for this pick. Once again at first glance not the biggest need for the Eagles, but Nnamdi is over 30 and DRC only has one year left on his deal. Byndom is the highest graded player on my board and the Eagles can use more playmakers in the secondary. Byndom has great size and speed. He broke up 15 passes last year, picked off two passes and returned one for a TD. This could also allow Nnamdi to take some snaps at safety if needed.

With the 90th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select C Dalton Freeman, Clemson.

GM Jerry Reese: "For starters let me just say this does not mean we have given up on current center David Baas. We are not that kind of franchise, we don't give up on players when a potentially better one comes along. We are bringing in Freeman because we think he is a great talent and it is up to him whether he will put the work in required or not. It is up to him whether he will end up a starter or a roster bubble player."
