Vick missed two years for being a dog killer- way worse offense in the public eye. Goodell is a reasonable guy, I'll bet Jolly wants back in, and I'll bet we give him a try. He needs football and he's probably still better than our 7th DLman.

Im gonna beat a dead horse just a little. Plaxico Burres shot himself while illegally carrying a handgun in a crowded club and spent 2 years in prison. Everyone knows Vick's story. Donte Stallworth hit a man and killed him. They all play football now. The only person Jolly hurt was himself. The was never anyone else in danger in his arrest. I believe Jolly deserves another shot and Id love to see the pack drop one of the 12 WRs we have on our 90 man roster to give him a shot. What does it really hurt? He doesnt make it what did it hurt to cut Curenski Gilleylen or someone. Just my 2 cents. didnt mean to sound so aggressive if I did lol

Yeah I loved Jolly. OK one roster spot left, it's was between Jolly and Anthony Hargrove? Who do you pick?

If possible, i wouldn't mind him getting another shot BUT that is only if his problems are demolished. I wouldn't want him around if he's still hooked on that stuff

Tis true it was just more of a point prover really. In all honesty I believe TT wouldn't bring him back but if he did I wouldn't complain.

Thing is all those players you mentioned screwed up once. Jolly kept screwing up. He got arrested again and again, while on probation, while suspended. He's already had his second and probably 3rd chances. He's not a lock to get another.

Exactly.
Jolly as a Packer is long done, old news, ancient history.
Terrance Murphy and Nick Collins have better chances of playing with us again.

Johnny Jolly never sacked QBs either.... he batted down some passes, and was okay against the run, but let's not pretend that he was Warren Sapp out there.

Pretty much this. He was damn good in the run game. Any team, especially us, would love the depth he could bring. The character concerns and past will obviously force us to turn away, and I don't blame the management for that, but to say he only "batted down some passes" is severely underrating what he brought to the table.

Our season a year ago could have gone much better had we had Jolly.

But that's part of the problem itself; he was supposed to be out there on the field last year and wasn't because of choices he made.

As for play, he was a lot like Pickett but would get his hands up in the passing lanes. I just have my doubts that he kept himself in respectable shape on his own without* organized workouts and someone watching over him, he hasn't exactly made the best choices when he's away from organized football.

Obviously it was a product of his choices, which I alluded to later in my post. But I was affirming that his talent was enough to make a difference without taking into consideration is unavailability.

If Goodell is inclined to lift the suspension, he will not do so immediately upon the man being let out of prison.

The earliest I can see Jolly's suspension being lifted is after the upcoming season, provided he keeps his nose squeaky clean.

Addiction is no joke. It would do him well to be part of a healthy and controlled environment like a football team. Perhaps Goodell can see it that way.
