Week Three: The Sky is Falling!
Your Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
@
The Indianapolis Colts (1-1)
Matchups to Watch For:
1. Blaine Gabbert vs. Andrew Luck: This matchup could be our first glimpse of AFC South battles for years to come. Can Gabbert get back on track after a bad game against the Texans defense? Can Andrew Luck build on his success against the same Vikings defense that Gabbert excelled against, or will he struggle much like he did against the Bears?
2. Maurice Jones Drew and (maybe) Rashad Jennings vs. Colts front 7: The Colts have been, surprisingly so, decent against the run this year. Can the Jaguars backs get a run game going (and the o-line block well enough) to take some pressure off of Gabbert and the receivers
3. ???? vs. Coby Fleener: It is no secret that we have had a lot of trouble covering TEs this season thus far. With Daryl Smith's status an unknown, we are going to need someone to step up and stop the rookie who went for 82 yards against the Bears in week one. While Andrew Luck's favorite receiver has been Reggie Wayne, Fleener could be the one to have a monster game if the Jaguars cannot figure out how to cover a TE.
Key Questions for the Game:
Will someone on offense step up?
Which Jaguars team will show up this week?
Can we get healthy?
Will we ever win a game?

Man, just get Daryl Smith back, so he can go back to making the players round him better (you know, like elite players do).
I fear Robert Mathis will be a huge factor for them though. _________________

Come on MJD. Please make a bounce back game and just rush all over the Colts like I have become accustom to seeing. We need to get a win darnit!!!
Tired of going to work and getting laughed at by all these Giants/ Steelers/ Jets/ Eagles/ Buccaneers/ Dolphin fans. I refuse to take off my Jaguars lanyard! _________________

I have a simple solution to the secondary woes. Until Cox come back start Mathis at No.2 CB and let him and Middleton swap out for plays at the slot. Put Dwight Lowery former CB at No.1 and start Prosinski at safety replacing Lowery. Man I wish Tucker or Mularkey would see this. We need to start CB's who can cover and help out in the run game by tackling. So it would be No.1 Lowery No.2 Mathis/Middleton Slot. Middleton/Mathis with Pros replacing Lowery at safety. What yall think?

Lowery against #1s would be a problem imo, plus he is great over the top _________________

I got nothing against Gabbert I just don't want to go 5 games before we get our first win. That game looked so much like the last year jags. When Henne came in the pass game looked instantly better, sure he had that 1 fumble and sure he looked terrible in the preseaon with the back-ups. What if he had one full week of practice with the first team with the coaches all over him coaching his every mistake. If we lose this game the season would be on edge of disaster, I want Gabbert to play good but he has poor decision making If he plays poor against the colts then you gotta sit him.

This would not end well. There's a reason that Lowery didn't stay at CB, and it wasn't that he was too good as a cover corner.
I'm not so sure why you're worried about how we're covering #1's anyway. The D locked down Andre Johnson, and the only reason that Harvin went all over us is because we don't have a speed corner out there, and Lowery isn't the speed type that could fix that, nor do the Colts have a speed WR we have to worry about. Our biggest coverage problem is coverage over the middle, particularly to TEs. Taking Lowery off of Safety and putting in Prosinski will only make that worse. _________________

Henne came in against a vanilla prevent defense, of course he's going to complete passes. That doesn't make him the answer. _________________

I don't think we shut down Andre Johnson they just did'nt have to use him. They beat us on running the ball and screen plays. If you look at there RB's they both was close to 100 rushing and 50 recieving. I think Schaub had 35 completions for less than 200 yards. But when our secondary makes Ponder looked like Aaron Rodgers, what do you think Luck going to do without a decent running game. And plus, I would rather start a random fan at CB than Aaron Ross.
