Seems to be a lot of opinions on the subject, want to hear what fellow Dolfans think.
Do we start the guy who had a good season for us in 2011?
Or the guy we drafted 8th overall and knows the system?
Then again, we could end up starting this guy... well let's hope not.
Personally, the more I think about it the more I want Tannehill to start from Week 1. He knows the system due to Sherman, and I think he's mentally ready to be an NFL starter. There will be road-bumps but I think he is the type of guy to make them learning experiences. _________________ With much cheese,

Pat Devlin!
Honestly, both Ireland and Philbin seem to hold Moore in high regard and it's never good to throw in a rookie. I can see Tannehill starting at some point in the second half of the season though.
I don't think I have wanted a guy fired as much as I want Garrard off this team. I don't even know why, I just do. |

Not trying to be mean but...
I don't see how Ireland and Philbin like Matt Moore so much when they tried to get Peyton Manning & Matt Flynn, signed David Garrard (giving him equal snaps to Moore during pre-draft workouts) and reached on Tannehill at #8. I think their actions speak louder than words - they don't trust Moore at all. _________________ With much cheese,

Moore will most likely be the starter, and I hope he is. He's the only one with any rapport with Bess, Hartline, Fasano, Bush, Thomas, and the OLine. (But can we stop saying Moore was very good last year, he wasnt. He was decent) _________________

Would be nice if we had McNabb over Garrard. At least McNabb was pretty good at some point. I remember that one season he went through like half the year without 1 INT.
Before you disagree with me, please watch ESPN today to you can see what McNabb has actually been doing.
Not saying I want him to start but he could really help someone like Tannehill understand the NFL more IMO. I expect McNabb to even be a coach of some sort one day. |

Uhhh...maybe because at one point we had 1 QB on our roster?
Flynn? Are be back stepping again? One reason w ehad a "little" interest in him was out coach. We did not want to give him that much money if he might not even start.
So you want us to go out and take 2-3 of the crappiest FA QBs we can find to back-up Matt Moore or what?
Well, I guess Patriots released Tom Brady after taking Mallet in the 2nd round. |

Garrard was pretty good at one point, too. And he's a classy guy on top of that. I honestly would rather have him as a mentor to Tannehill than McNabb. McNabb has a flawed throwing motion that he's always been too stubborn to change. Plus, he's made it clear he doesn't want to be a backup or mentor... he still considers himself an NFL starter. _________________ With much cheese,

We were looking for an upgrade at Starting QB. Matt Flynn, if signed, would've been endorsed as the starter almost certainly. David Garrard was assured when signed he would be given the opportunity to compete for the starting QB job. He wasn't brought in to be a backup. So far, he's been splitting snaps with Moore 50/50. Doesn't sound like he was brought in to be just a backup to me.

Matt Moore isn't Tom Brady. A Top 10 pick isn't a 2nd round pick. To suggest that the situation is even similar is ridiculous. _________________ With much cheese,

I think Garrard's experience playing west coast will mean he wins the starting job, assuming he is healthy.
If Moore or Garrard win the starting job, I hope they find a way to give Tannehill a series or two a game. _________________

Moore has no merit with this coaching staff. What he did last season is thrown out the window because of the system. The guy I see starting is Tannehill because of the knowledge of the system. _________________

David Garrard is the starter, he is used to playing for a team with hardly any talent at WR and he is good at protecting the football. _________________

Literally answered nothing I said. Pretty much fired on the Tom Brady comment and that was all. Lol gotta love forums.
P.S. I could list a pretty big list of name over the years that so called "chance to start"...sorry, but key word their is chance. Common tact used in the nfl to get Qbs for just in case scenarios. |
