Yeah pretty much a wash trade to see if either one does anything.
Picked up quite a few picks though which I like. I originally just offered to do Laurent for Best straight up.

I think it's a great trade. Lots of picks. I just thought it was funny that Robinson and Best were being traded, both with insane concussion histories.

Depending what you are looking for there are 1-2 other quality options there on the board. |
The top 3 DTs I was looking at were him and 2 juniors who will be ineligible for the next round.
There are A LOT of good prospects available though. Partially since many will end up staying in school, partially because of this draft's depth, and partially because some other GMs have reached IMO.

He's doing a lot better than most of us think. He was used as a 6th offensive lineman for the early part of the season and is doing well now that the QB is willing to pass in the middle of the field and take risks. There were plenty of times when Lewis was wide open on a levels route concept and Gabbert would pass to the lower route. I'm not sure of the situations that happened on or if Gabbert was being asked to read low to high, but he has had Lewis open plenty of times for a nice gain, even when it isn't a levels play. |

Just saw this (take it FWIW): Through the TNF game, PFF has Marcedes Lewis graded out as the 2nd best TE this year.

Yeah, i really have no issues with Lewis being our go-to TE. He's a pretty decent pass catcher, and he's versatile enough to be very useful blocking as well.
We could use an upgrade on Potter sure, but Lewis is a top tier TE imo. For whatever reason, he just never seemed to get on the same page with Gabbert...but that seems to be a recurring theme with Blaine.
