Wasn't my first choice but I can deal with this. No Coples or Gilmore so I'm happy. _________________

If Beason or Davis gets injured we already have more depth at LB than we have at CB if Gamble gets hurt.
We have no starting quality DT and no depth at the position other than unproven players.
This is a good player but from a team need point of view, it's a big mistake.
We have no r3 pick so we are looking at getting a DT/CB in the 2nd round and then a DT/CB in the FOURTH round.
How is that going to help? _________________ Still the only UK-based Panthers fan I know...hang on a minute...I might be the only one IN the UK!

I like the pick. I think cox and poe were reaches at 9. Thete are still going to be some dts available later on. _________________

He was just to good to pass up at 9 im hoping well move him to WLB though he'll be able to shut down a TE.
Anderson - Beason - K
Good for 4-3 and 3-4
LB was a huge weakness last year but this was just a BPA pick and I love it.
Also I dont think were gonna draft a DT we have Edwards coming back and arent going to give up on McClain and Fua we can get a good CB in the 2nd round. _________________

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't even take a DT, if we do it won't be a guy who is expected to be the solution. Either we wont get "the guy" at DT or at CB, but I don't think thats too bad. We have a bunch of young players at both positions already. |

Yeah, I don't think some realize how bad our LBs were last year. Even with Beason coming back, I think this is a great pick. I've expressed how I loved him for awhile now and while I became more skeptical we'd pull the trigger, I'm loving it that we did. Fantastic linebacker.
And all this talk about how he has a low ceiling is ridiculous IMO. What more does he have to prove? Great instincts, great athleticism, great size, perfect character. _________________

Probably BPa.
Floyd was enticing, but Kuechly is solid. _________________

We think just alike lol. We should have took Cox but Kuechly was my second choice. _________________

Been saying this for months. I agree and like the pick. Achilles injuries are hard to come back from, even if you do, you're not assured to be the same player with the same explosion you were in the past.
Plus, Thomas Davis' knee is a huge question mark, and James Anderson just isn't that good. _________________

So we're now relying on Brockers or Still sliding to R2 and Hogan coming through at CB2?
I'd love to see that happen (I really like Hogan last season from what little I saw) but I still wonder about depth if Gamble goes down.
Lastly, am I the only one who doesn't think we were that bad at LB last year?! I thought more of the problems came from the play on the DL than at LB. _________________ Still the only UK-based Panthers fan I know...hang on a minute...I might be the only one IN the UK! |
