HM: lil Animal, Cam Chancellor. | not yet | Yeah at best he's the fifth best Cardinal defender. Calais Cambell and Daryl Washington are easily the two best Cardinals defenders. Then Dockett and Wilson before Peterson. Hopefully this year he could take that leap forward though. |

5th spot was hard. Angerer, Watt, Mathis (Robert), Michael Griffin (I guess), or even Rashean Mathis. |
No spot or mention for Poz? |

Hali should be #1 and Miller should be #2... Von had 11 sacks in 13 weeks before breaking his hand. He was heavily in the DPOY argument when the Broncos won 7/8 games. Fell off when he broke his hand, but the guy was a flat out monster last season. |
Well, youve proven youre one of the biggest homers on this message board, so its no surprise you say that.
Miller is a great young player, but Derrick Johnson is just as good and has been doing it longer. And dont bring up sack numbers because there is more to a players game than that and they have different responsibilities within their defenses. Miller has more upside and will likely be better in the coming years, but acting like he is clearly the better player RIGHT NOW is nonsense. |
I'll bring up other numbers as well... Von Miller had the same amount of stuffs as Derrick Johnson despite playing 4 games with a broken hand. Von Miller has more impact on the game. Period. You tell me who you would rather have, a Clay Matthews/Von Miller type, or Derrick Johnson? Yeah i think i'll take a monster pass rusher that can also play the run over an above average MLB. Why? Because they have WAY more of an impact. Ask any GM in the league. A beast pass rusher off the edge is one of the most important positions on the entire field...
At what point in the season was Derrick Johnson a main candidate for DPOY like Von Miller was when the Broncos won 7/8 and before he broke his hand. After that injury our defense fell off the map without his impact.
Von Miller is a better player now, and will be for the next decade. Get used to it Chiefs fans. Matt Cassel looked like he was about to cry when Miller just destroyed your offensive line... Von Miller had 11.5 sacks in 12 weeks. Would have LOVED to see what had happened if he didn't break his hand...
Once again, i would bet a years salary that if you asked all 32 GM's in the league who would they rather have (now and into the future) they would pick Von Miller over Derrick Johnson any day of the week, and twice on Sunday's.
Derrick Johnson is overrated by Chiefs fans, just like they overrate tons of they're other players... Tony Moeaki is already in the HOF according to you guys... Dexter McCluster was the best slot WR in the entire division according to KC fans after 3 weeks in his rookie season. Blah, Blah, Blah... Enjoy having Matt freaking Cassel as your QB. _________________

Derrick Johnson is right now, better than Von Miller. Until Von can become elite at something else besides rushing the passer, he isn't above DJ.
Over the years? OK. Weddle last year though? Awesome. Really stepped his level of play up and that was with a [inappropriate/removed] poor pass rush.
Apparently, its ok to say Von Miller is the best or second best player after one year, but Weddle has been burned A FEW TIMES over the years and had just as many elite seasons as Miller, and some very good seasons as well, but nope, can't be elite or better than a (right now) one dimensional guy.
Miller is after Hali, Johnson, and Weddle. |

As of right now Derrick Johnson > Von Miller, dont let homerism cloud your judgement. _________________

Whats hilarious is youre replying to a Steeler fan and the post right after this is made by a Charger fan and an Eagles fan in support of Johnson. I stdon really understand why Cassel is brought up but whatever.
Id take Miller for the future too, but this isnt a list about potential or who is going to be better years from now. Right now Id still rather have DJ, who knows what happens with Miller he could have been a fluke. I doubt it but you never know. _________________

| I think this board is clear...DJ is better than Miller right now. Like I said before, they play different positions. DJ is a better ILB than Miller is an OLB. Period. This thread isn't about positional value, it is about which players are the best players at THEIR position. Otherwise there would be no reason to rank anyone in the top 5 unless they are pass rushers...Like others have said, you appear to be the homer not the chiefs fans, many people that are neutral have said the same thing, so stop trying to paint chiefs fans as homers. If you want to minimize an all pro ILB, because he is on a division rival be my guest....doesn't change the fact that he is an all pro ILB...your version of overrated is anyone who you don't see on ESPN all the time. Well KC is a very small market and will naturally be UNDERRATED, ( at least until they are a super bowl contender) You won't hear about many of their players on ESPN. But saying they are overrated is silly. For example look at how criminally underrated Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson are to the mainstream media. This is an educated forum, and the people on here are REAL football fans, and know which players are good, even if ESPN isn't hyping them up. |

McCluster and Moeaki are good young players. No one said they are going into the hall of fame, but good job exaggerating....
Moeaki is injury prone, but when healthy he has all the tools to be a very well rounded starting tight end, very solid blocker, with great hands, and pass catching ability. Not saying he is a pro bowler or anything. Just a very solid tight end...
McCluster is a role player due to his size and has fumbling issues, but he is one of the more dynamic players in the league. You have to use him sparingly due to the punishment he will take because of his size, but he made your boy Von Miller look silly last year on a long TD run, which Von Miller got benched for, Von underestimated Dexter's speed, and lost contain leading to the long TD run and Von getting benched...
And thanks for your little comment on Matt Cassel. Chiefs fans know he is terrible. In fact we are more critical of Cassel than most other fan bases and media outlets. So that kind of blows your homer theory out of the water. The KC fan base is very realistic and an educated fan base... we all know that until we replace Cassel we will never win a super bowl (though we could win the AFC West) - Rumor from OTA'S is Stanzi looks good, and could be the long term plan, but they are redshirting him for 2 years so that he will develop kind of in the Arron Rodgers mold. Not saying the plan will work or wont' work, but just pointing out the future QB could be on the roster. |
