Because it's NEVER too early to think about the next draft.
4 guys on my radar for the Broncos going into the season
Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin
Star Lotuleilei, DT, Utah
Tyrann Mathieu, DB, LSU
Derek Amerson, DB, NC State _________________

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Star ends up going number one next year... I would be ecstatic if we grabbed him |

2 players I was able to watch more than a few times last year who really caught my eye are Purdue DT Kawann Short and Michigan St. DE William Gholston.
I was surprised Short didn't declare. He is a really productive player that offers a pass rush. Gholston is a big do everything type DE. |

I agree with you on Gholston's talent, but he has a little Vantaze Burfict in him where he just does stupid things on the field _________________

Yes he does. The Michigan/Michigan St. game from this year is a great example, where he punched an OL in the face and tried to rip Denard Robinson's head off in a pile. |

Star Lotuleilei is a player that every single team will want. Im going to say right now that hes a top-10 player without having to play this year.
5 players I have liked from this past year that I can see in the mid-late 1st (where I see us finishing):
1. Jarvis Jones, DE, Georgia
2. Kawann Short, DT Purdue
3. Brandon Jenkins, DE, Florida St.
4. Michael Dyer, RB, Arkansas St (from Auburn)
5. DeMarcus Milliner, CB, Alabama _________________

Lotuleilei may be a better prospect than Suh. That's a scary though. We'll have no chance at him.
I think RB is going to be a high priority going forward even though Hillman was drafted this year. _________________

I will keep this thread stickied so long as the discussion remains on-topic and informative. If the thread starts to stray or we start getting a lot of single-sentence garbage posts I will close the thread down and wait until mid-way through the college football season to re-open it.
This thread dates back to 101's days and I want to make sure it remains a good reference point for information regarding prospects and their potential fit for the Broncos. If discussion gets away from that elliot and I will lock it up. _________________ big_palooka:

If Denver drafts around in the 20s, some players to watch:
Manti Te’o, LB, Notre Dame -- will Nate Irving take over the MLB spot or will he move to DJ's position?
Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina -- will Fox want another top RB?
Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson -- a work-horse replacement for McGahee?
Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama -- will Tracy Porter get a new contract?
Tyrann Mathieu, S, LSU -- how will the 2012 safeties do?
Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU -- just because I like the name |

Not sure if anyone remembers, but before the 2010 draft I watched a ton of games to get a look at DaQuan Bowers, and Ellington (as a Sophomore) was the best player I saw. Great vision, fluid (like Arian Foster) and boy can he accelerate.
I hear his Junior year was disappointing? _________________

I have a hard time figuring this guy out. All I read about him is great, and the knock is his size, which from what I have read is quite a big concern. I have very few chances to see college ball, and I have never had the chance to see Mathieu in a game. Is he as great a player as he is made out to be? Or will his lack of size be too much of a hinderance?
This was not a question for you specifically, bobdevine. I just see he has already been mentioned a couple of times here already. |

Ill jump in and give it a whirl.
Tyrann Mathieu (The Honey Badger) is an incredible talent. A 3-star coming out of high school, his biggest knock on him was exactly what critics cling too, his size. Hes absolutely a little guy but that doesnt stop him from playing like a monster.
IMO hes going to be the new breed of nickel-CB. Hes got the athletic ability and instincts of a Troy Polamalu but the size of a Rahim Moore. He has the speed to cover the slot, blitz from just about everywhere, and can even help in PR.
I wouldnt even hesitate for a 2nd that he'll be a good pro. _________________

Sheldon Richardson, DT, Mizzou
Guy has the potential to be a monster. I'm excited to see what he does against SEC offensive lineman this year. _________________
