I'd be stoked if we somehow got Gerald Hodges. I like him a lot.
I'd also be happy with Jenkins....though I like both Hodges and Brown better.
I've recently been infatuated with Barrett Jones and I officially am the leader of the "Draft Barrett Bandwagon". He could easily fall to us in the 15-25 range in the 1st.
Kid could play tackle, guard, or center in the NFL. I think he's the best lineman in this draft, yet some people think he is going to go in the late 1st. If Peters comes back and can still play, he could take over at guard. If either tackle got hurt, he could move to that spot. He is incredibly versatile.
I'd love Hodges. He could play SLB and we could move Kendricks over to WILL.
As for receiver, I pretty much want either Marquess Wilson or Da'Rick Rogers. Both are big receivers we could get in the 2nd or 3rd round...and both are first round talents. Terrance Williams or Justin Hunter in the 1st would be great, but we have bigger needs at S and OL there.
I've been infatuated with Floyd this season. He has a great combination of power and speed...kid is legit. He'd be a great addition to our young DT group (I'm kind of assuming Jenkins will be gone after this year). Only problem is that he might not enter the draft since he's still a bit raw, and if he stayed in school he could go in the 1st round in 2014. I'm hoping he declares because we could get him a lot later that way
1st: Barrett Jones
2nd: Marquess Wilson
3rd: Gerald Hodges
4th: Sharrif Floyd
That would be the ideal first 4 picks, IMO. I'd cream my pants if we somehow got those 4 players. Obviously unlikely, but I can dream.
Everyone hop on the Barrett Jones bandwagon while you can. _________________

Hodges is a perfect fit for the scheme we're running now. He's a fantastic athlete who can handle the amount of coverage responsibilities we put on our linebackers. He's a rangy defender who is explosive and fast in pursuit which is exactly what we look for in defenders these days. |

I think our biggest needs are as followed,
1. Safety
2. OL
3. DT
4. WR _________________

I am just holding out hope that we sign one of the handful of good safeties that will be available in FA.
Really hoping we sign Byrd....then we could get an o-lineman in the 1st, then get an OLB, a DT, and a WR _________________

Exactly.
He'd especially be great next to Kendricks and DeMeco. We'd be set at LB for years.
Hopefully he could play SAM that way we could put Kendricks at the weakside , where I feel he is better suited _________________

No way Shariff Floyd gets out of the 3rd round. Wouldn't shock me if come the combine he sneaks his way into the back end of the first round. He's super disruptive and highly athletic. |

I think it's:
1. The entire offensive line. If there is an upgrade at any spot, take it.
2. QB
2. Replacing Kurt Coleman as a starting safety
3. Weakside linebacker
5. Runningback depth
6. WR depth |

Yeah, he probably won't last til the 3rd. I'm just being overly optimistic.
But...Barrett Jones will last until wherever we're picking in the mid part of the round.

No. Please, no. We're pretty solid on the mediocre lineman front. Danny Watkins, Todd Herremans and Evan Mathis fulfill our average white guy quota on our offensive line. |

You kidding?
Barrett Jones is not average....Every time I've watched him play he's impressed me a ton. Especially in the NCG against LSU. _________________

I'm fully aboard the Barrett Jones bandwagon. I don't want to draft a pure LT in the first, because that is a useless pick if Peters is healthy. Jones can play at a high level at any position on the OL, which makes him the perfect backup and a future starter at G, C, or RT.
Aside from that, he's probably the best OL with a chance to slide to a playoff pick (and I do think this team will make the playoffs, even though they're gonna scare us along the way).

In Castillo's scheme, you'd actually rather have Kendricks at SAM. Kind of counter-intuitive relative to every other defense ever, but there you go. Whereas most schemes use the SAM to kind of soak up blocks and battle at the line, Castillo wants his SAM to stay back a tiny bit and make plays. |
