The Oakland Raiders have signed offensive lineman Ed Wang, who has played in six career games, all with the Buffalo Bills in 2010.
The Oakland Raiders have signed offensive lineman Ed Wang, who has played in six career games, all with the Buffalo Bills in 2010.
The 6-5, 321-pound Wang was waived-injured by the Bills last season. He entered the league as the Bills’ fifth-round selection (140th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft, becoming the first-ever Chinese-American player drafted into the league.
The Ashburn, Va., native was an all-Atlantic Coast Conference second-team selection at Virginia Tech in 2009 and saw action at both tackle positions and at tight end during his collegiate career. Both of Wang’s parents were members of the Chinese Olympic team in the 1970s. |

This is one of those Reggie "dig" picks where he scours the waiver wire for a guy that can come in and help anywhere. Can he be better that some of our fringe guys that have been ganging around the edges of the roster? Who knows. That is what TC is for. It is gonna be an interesting offseason.

My guess is Wang, Barnes and Barksdale will be competing for RT. This was a pretty good pickup he was one of the top ZBS linemen in the draft when he came out back when we were running the zone. I know we all want someone to beat out Barnes at RT, maybe it could be this guy? If not he will provide at least depth to Veldheer on the left side. Decent move.
