Self inflicted gunshot in his bed

Makes you wonder if his sUV going off that cliff in 2010 was a suicide attempt

I remember all those reports about the cliff incident last year and first thought about that today when I heard this news. What shame! RIP Seau!

this is very shocking news, he seemed to be a fun loving guy and seemed to be always smiling when ever i saw him on TV. I wish the best for his family, I thought ESPN's coverage of his mother speaking was very disrespectful as she was a wreck and they decided to keep broadcasting.

RIP

Was just listening to the radio and apparently there was a very CLEAR motive written into his suicide note. They did not want to talk about it as it was unconfirmed and it would be disrespectful at this point to discuss.

That is absolutely horrific. Not to get to sentimental, but I've been to Seau's in San Diego and lived in Oceanside, CA. He was literally the pride of north San Diego County. He was also such a great LB and had such a long career. Here's the really, really sad part...

Quote:
If Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, it is similar to the way former Chicago Bears great Dave Duerson ended his life. Duerson shot himself in the chest on February 17, 2011 -- the method used so that his brain could be examined for symptoms of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a trauma-induced disease common to NFL players and others who have received repeated blows to the head.

People often say football players make too much money for playing a game but forget about the toll it takes on a person's life.

So the gsw was to his chest and he left a suicide note requesting his brain be studied?

That's what Dave Duerson did last year. Right now, the speculation is that Seau did the same thing but probably won't know more until the details of the suicide not become known. It is an awfully big coincidence.

This just reeks of Seau suffering from a disease from too many concussions in his Nfl career.

That's what irks me about how harsh people get with players. Players often give their health and even their mental stability in the name of our entertainment. While I do think they are in many ways fortunate, I think we should always be aware of what they sacrifice for our pleasure.

Junior was a great player and he will be missed terribly.

I was born just a few months prior to the Chargers drafting Junior Seau in 1990 and growing up he was such a big deal to me. He was a hero, I looked up to a guy I only knew through a tv once a week. The fact that he's now gone, is shocking. It's amazing how losing someone you don't know can bring such saddness to you. Junior Seau will be missed as a former player, hero, husband, brother, son, as a leader in the SoCal area. He will definitely not be forgotten
