The vast majority of young QBs who suck early keep on sucking. |
That is absolutely true, but it doesnt mean its impossible. The offensive weapons are much better just because of 2 guys and because of the better matchups it allows our #3 and 4 guys who were starting last year. Everyone knows what Gabbert has to do, but come on. He is still like 21, it was 1 year and there was a very short offseason for a guy who never should have started but DG was hurt and McCown obviously couldnt bridge the gap _________________

I believe in Blaine tbh....
He showed me a lot at Missouri, and showed me some things last year. But he was awful more then not.
I'll be intrested to see how he plays this year. But I do believe in him. _________________ Follow on twitter @bigdaddyfblove

That is something everyone can agree on, but seriously:
How many rookie QBs that started week 1(week 3 i guess for blaine) had a steeper learning curve? Cam Newton is probably it.
How many rookie QBs had receiving targets worse than Jacksonville?
How many people thought he should start last year? Not many at all, but the back injury to Garrard and McCown's inability to play even average pretty much left Blaine our only option
How many teams had a RT like Guy Whimper who gave up a record iirc in 14 straight games giving up a sack?
Blaine obviously have mechanics issues which correlate to his poor accuracy, but that can be fixed. His pocket presence is awful, only time will tell how that improves.
Seriously though with all this: How well did you expect him to play?
No targets that can catch or separate
HUGE learning curve coming from his system in college
Shortened offseason already _________________

Your 100% right, the cast around him was terrible.
I wonder how well him and Blackmon will connect.
Jags should not give up on him now, and if he shows progress give him another year. But if he is awful again this year, have to go in a different direction. _________________ Follow on twitter @bigdaddyfblove

Yeah, no one is disagreeing that he was bad last year or that he can continue to be bad.
However, his potential, flashes, circumstances last year, and attitude and work ethic should not be ignored. We will have a much better idea about him after this upcoming season than we do now; people should not be so quick to write him off as a bust. _________________

I have said at least 30 times in the mock draft forum, if we finish Top-5, we should go QB because odds are it was Blaines fault. The defense is there already _________________

Yeah that was what i was pointing at in that post. The Defense is good, and if you guys unfortanately do finish at a point where you would be top 5 then you should start over again, unfortanately. _________________ Follow on twitter @bigdaddyfblove
