Quote: | Texans tried to trade Jacoby Jones but couldn't get a deal. They save $2.5 mil on cap. Could have saved 3 after June 1. |

Yeah, is the part that I don't get. The only thing it appears to indicate to me is that they want to bring in some sort of veteran as soon as possible in the offseason. A QB or CB, I'd imagine. _________________

Finally. Keshawn Martin will contribute more to the team in the first game of the season than Jacoby did in his whole tenure. Dude was a liability. _________________

I had SUCH high hopes for the guy. Remember during the preseason his rookie year, when folks were calling him the next Marquis Colston, and he lit up the world with like, 3 PR TDs his first preseason? Man, he looked like he was going to be a superstar that preseason...
Jacoby Jones to have "Devin Hester" effect for Texans
Sigh...what could of been. _________________

The more i think of it, if we want a vet to replace JJ, we could go after Jabar Gaffney. He put up 900 for Wash last year. |
Hell no to him. He just doesn't know when to shut up, blasting everyone on Twitter and making a fool of himself. He didn't have too many nice things to say about Houston when he left, so...good riddance. _________________

This makes me sad.
Jacoby is a good guy who has the personality that lets them get to him way too easily. Wish him all the best. _________________ All that is gold does not glitter,

Makes me wonder if Jacobys Homey will go the way of APeterson_Texan. If only we'd drafted Fleener... _________________

Yeah, i'm probably gonna change it to something like Koobs4Life, or DwightJonesIsTheNextAJ80. Something cool like that. _________________ All that is gold does not glitter,

The reason it would save more if we cut him in June is because pro rated salary cap wouldn't accelerate to this year but only go to next years cap.
Doing now saves cap in 2013 which is where we need it. _________________

He tried so hard, I'm gonna miss him. I wish him the best. He will be a great PR/4 WR for someone. _________________

To be fair Jacoby was brought in, in the 3rd round with alot of potential that never panned out. Although personally I think he exceeded his 3rd round status and contributed solidly to the organization. That being said it was time to part ways and I know I wont be losing any sleep over it.
Also we at relying heavily on young unproven guys like Posey, Martin, and Jean to possible be our 3rd and 4th receivers which scares me a tad but I trust in the FO in their decision making and will find out sooner rather than later if it'll pay off _________________

Also one of my friends said he read that Miami wants to bring him in, that would be great to see him fumble a punt when we play them, or bad if he takes one to the house on us _________________
