Looking more and more like I will be there in April. Probably not long enough for the draft, but like the first 3 weeks or so. We will be doing work at the Mannheim near Hobby airport. So I will be about 15 minutes or so from Reliant. Anyone down that way? Even if not, we still need to do a dinner or something with everyone.

I'm not too far from Hobby. Just east, about 10-15 miles. Looking forward to it!

Ya, I'm like 20 miles north of Houston, but if we can meet near mid-town, I'm game.

Man, today is why I love the NCAA tournament!

Not for the Gophers Sad

Are Minnesota fans happy Tubby Smith was fired? Seems to me that he was doing a good job there. Hard to fire a guy after winning a tournament game...

Ya I love how Tubby and Howland get fired and Dixon gets an extension.....

To be fair, UCLA fell off heavily in the past few years, and the SI thing earlier this year was pretty damning.

He had some questions to answer because our athletic department is lacking money. I wanted him gone and thought he should be gone. We had a team talented enough to make a run at the big 10 title and an elite 8 run but we didn't even come close. In his 6 years here, he was about 60% overall but only about 40% in Big 10 games. That is not good enough here.

Possible replacements are Buzz Williams (Marquette), Jay Wright (Nova), Flip Saunders (I DO NOT WANT) and Shaka Smart (VCU). What people don't know is our new AD is from VCU. He have Shaka the opportunity and Shaka was loyal to him. Hopefully he comes here. That would be best

With all due respect, Buzz Williams and Shaka Smart are pipe dreams. Marquette basketball consistently competes at a national level at this point in time, and VCU is getting that point. If Shaka won't coach at Illinois, NC State, and UCLA (which can recruit Chicago, Raleigh, and LA respectively, and have resources out the wazoo), then he won't leave for Minnesota, regardless of ties with the AD. Shaka is going to wait for a Duke/UNC/Kentucky level job to open before he leaves VCU.

Jay Wright is more realistic, as he's been on the hot seat for the past couple of years now. But he hasn't done anything in the past 5 years or so--I really don't think he is any better of a coach than Tubby.

Flip Saunders might be a realistic choice now that he's flamed out twice in the NBA, but as someone who suffered through the Sidney Lowe era at NC State, I would not wish that on anyone. NBA coaches can recruit and are far better at the X-and-O standpoint than almost all of the coaches they play (some of Sidney Lowe's inbound plays were masterful), but 80% of coaching college basketball is managing your players and forcing them to make good life decisions, and they typically don't do that--they expect players to get better on their own like they do in the NBA, and that doesn't happen.

+1. AA we tried IUI (after we had a couple of disappointments naturally), our (next) little girl is due in July! Still taking recommendations on names BTW. Right now Mya Elise Laree is in the lead. (Laree for my gf / wife's dad who just passed.)

Midtown works for me. Let me know when and where, and once I clear it by the CEO (the wife) and the Chairman of the Board (my son) I should be there. Very Happy

I live in Houston now. If this is a meet up, it might be feasible that I could come.
