Solid; a few things though.
I don't see Christian Ballard being cut; he was just starting to come on and is on his rookie deal
I know I'm repeating myself when it comes to this but I doubt Carlson is cut. He costs us cap space to cut him and then we still have to fill that roster spot. Given his injury into camp I think he's given this year as a prove yourself and if he doesn't pan out we can cut him next year and actually gain cap space.
Marcus Sherels is an ERFA; I doubt he gets a long term deal
No way we trade Toby for a 4th round pick. 1, no team is going to give that up for him. 2, he's more valuable to us than that.
On to the draft, Cordarelle Patterson is the first or second receiver off the board in this draft. No way he's available at pick 58. Drafting Ogletree and keeping Henderson doesn't make a ton of sense to me personally, but that's because I view Ogletree as a WILL linebacker only. If you have different views than that's understandable. Otten and Hawthorne would be huge surprises if they are available in the 7th. They are both 3-5 round prospects right now and Hawthorne had an impressive shrine game. _________________

On Carlson, he costs the team real cash. With the move to making less money for a year or two in TCF, I do think that is a factor.
I like the free agents. I likke ogletree a lot, over time he will be able to play any LBer position.
I do not think Patterson will be there that late. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Troy Smith is still in the league?
Mike Pollak was injured all season, what would be the benefit of bringing him in?
Henry was a mediocre punter and wouldn't be an upgrade to Kluwe. As far as why you don't like Kluwe, is it his unabashed character? Because he certainly hasn't been a detriment as a punter. Outside of a few blunders where it went off the side of his foot, he's been the best punter the Vikings have had since Mitch Berger.
As far as the draftees, that's not realistic at all. Patterson might be gone by the time the Vikings' pick in the 1st rd, let alone be there in the 2nd rd. As far as the Honey Badger, in the end, if he can explain away the issues well enough, he won't be there in the 4th. And if he can't, he won't be drafted until way after the 4th. _________________

IF we cut Carlson it will have to be before the new league year begins, otherwise he's guaranteed another $1.3M (I believe) just for being on the roster.
Same goes for Michael Jenkins. _________________

Like the Jennings and Dorsey signings. At the QB spot, I think we need someone to back-up Ponder rather than challenge MB-T for the 3rd QB spot. Don't see Patterson making it to our second round pick. _________________ To give anything less than your best is to sacrific the gift - Steve Prefontaine |

I do not see the Vikings resigning Henderson, he has been terrible all year
The Vikings should draft a linebacker to replace Erin
I am unsure on Harvin, it sounds like he does not want to be here and has arguements with Leslie on the sideline so I think the Vikings might trade him but I do not want to see Harvin traded but if he does not want to be with the Vikings anymore, we should trade him for draft picks and draft Harvin's replacement
I do not see the Vikings resigning Marcus, he is a good punt returner but he sucks at safety, the Vikings should draft Marcus's replacement |
