Alabama's O-line is legit. Warmack and Barrett Jones are both studs and I'd be happy with either in the 1st.
Also, Ogletree is FAST
I'd be really happy with either Ogletree or Mosley in the 1st, too.
This is a fun game to watch as an amateur scout and Vikings' fan.
Edit:
Baccari Rambo is looking good, too. |

While they did look good no question about it, the running backs were FAR more impressive to me. Yards after first contact ...All...Game...Long... They could be hit in the backfield and still turn it into an 8 yard gain. They were running over the Georgia players time and time again. _________________

It helped that they had massive holes to accelerate through all game.
Also, as talented as Georgia's LBs are (especially Ogletree and Jones) they're not really great run defenders. Georgia need there big D-lineman (Jenkins and Geathers) to slow down the run, but they were completely dominated by Alabama's O-line. |

I watched this game specifically looking at Ogletree and Mosley. Originaly I thought Ogletree would be a good selection, but for the past couple weeks I've been higher on Mosley and tonight helped me solidify my decision. Ogletree still has trouble against the run. He made a nice play on Lacy where he stuffed him at the line. But when he's engaged by blocker, he still has lots of trouble shedding it.
Mosley is far better in run support. Uses his great athleticism and technique to shed blocks. He also has better instincts and uses them to stop players in their tracks and behind the line instead of just using speed.
I'd be happy with either two but happier with Mosley. I hope we take this kid in the 1st. He's my pick for now. |

I have no doubt that if you had Mosley and Johnson as ILB's behind that Georgia line that the run defense would have been much better.
I am starting to question Ogletree as a every down MLB. Especially with our scheme where it is about stonewalling the run and getting offenses into 3rd and long situations. He may help get us off the field in those 3rd and long but we would likely be seeing more 3rd and short. Which I mentioned is bad news for a team that plays coverage the way we do.
Now he would still be great if he played OLB / NICKLE but if we want a 3 down MLB I would definitely take Mosley over him. _________________

Same here.

Considering how new to the position, his ability to make any plays at all is really impressive, and it makes me think that if and when he develops the more high level LB techniques he could be a complete monster. Especially since he's so big and athletic. However, there are no sure things when it comes to developing players, so we'd probably be better off taking the more sure thing in Mosley, who is super talented and a big time athlete himself. |

Question - Say Matt Barkley falls to us in the draft, would you take him? _________________

me neither. honestly I don't like any QB in this draft very much. I'd take Geno if he is there but I wouldn't sell the farm to get him. _________________

In what round? I wouldn't take him in the first. |

Ogletree did fall in my rankings. I likely would not use a ~15th pick on him.
I still like the DTs. _________________

I dislike Barkley as an NFL QB with a passion. He has bust written all over him I feel like. I don't think he could bring anything more than Ponder, and that's saying something.. He has 2 EXCELLENT college WR's who helped him out way more than he helped them out. Just think about it that way. _________________

I wouldn't mind taking a QB like Tyler Wilson if he was there at our pick...otherwise the player I really would like is Cordarrelle Patterson from Tennessee...I think he's going to be a really good player, the deep threat we need opposite of Harvin/Rudolph.
If we can't get a "franchise" QB to build around, we at least have to give him more options to see if he can succeed. No one's going to get it done with Jenkins/Simpson/Burton/Wright as your receivers. _________________
