I'd love to have him or Joeckel... IF WE DIDN'T HAVE EUGENE MONROE

I honestly cannot think of anyone outside of LEO/DT that I want at #2 lol

Dee isn't even my #1 CB plus his backpedal is all kinds of caddiewhompous. I thought it was just a weird thing that I was seeing, but I've seen a lot more people pointing it out lately.

I like Geno, but I don't think he's worth #2 and I wanna see Gabbert get a fair shake. If Gabbert fails though then we should have quite a few QB options last year given how promising the underclassmen QBs were last year in addition to soon-to-be seniors such as Derek Carr, David Fales, etc. If we don't go QB this year and Gabbert fails, I'd prefer Teddy Bridgewater (duh) or Blake Bortles.

At least, right now I feel that way.

If we could combine the elite top of the 2014 class with the depth of this class it'd be the most amazing draft of all time. Laughing

... /trademark flux rant

fluxrant is not wrong.

The top end of next year is stupid good. potential franchise QBs abound...at least 2 out of the group will show strong. And you have a DE who could actually be more coveted than a 'franchise QB'. he's that good.

Basically, this draft is annoying. You have guys like Teddy and Clowney would would easily be top 2 picks in THIS draft...who aren't elligible. Like, i'd take Bridgewater a million rounds ahead of Geno in THIS draft.

But then you have this ridiculously deep mid-round bloc. Basically there are 3 rounds of 2nd round prospects. Weird and it makes me uncomfortable.

I will say this... If Geno is Matt Ryan, and we draft him, there is enough talent in this draft that we could easily make a one year turn around with hits in rounds 2, 3 and 4.

I like to think the trademark flux rant is usually right :3

I agree iPwn.

I think Mingo, Dion, or Ansah make the most sense at #2, but with the draft I almost expect to be wrong when it comes to our selection.

Though I did think we'd take Blackmon if we had the chance, but I didn't really expect it still.

That's the real question though. Is Geno = Matt Ryan, or is he just...some spread magic offense QB who rode a pair of stud WRs to success...and by 'success', i mean losing tons of games...

To be fair, his defense was awful...

So you think we swing for the fences with a LEO? Those 3 seem like alot of potential but not so much substance

They have substance.

At #2, you're swinging for the fences no matter what.

I know they all have the physical tools, I'm talking the other stuff, the football parts. The technique, moves, motor etc

All three have a high motor. Mingo did everything he was asked to do very well, same with Dion really though I think Dion is a bit riskier. Ansah has adapted to football quickly as well. I'm not worried about them as football players because from what I've seen, they're more than just athletes.

I will be very intrigued to see what our coach does with them, if he drafts one he clearly will be his guy he is linked to from the start like Gene and Gabbert

I don't think so. If the first selection had that effect it'd be Gene and Eugene.

Regardless of who he picks, the only thing that matters is winning.

I say roll with Gabbert in 2013 and if he fails then all in for Bridgewater, Bortles, or whichever 2014 QB we fancy.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the pick will be Geno. If Caldwell really is high high on the LEOs later in the draft, it makes sense. RT isn't worth #2, neither is a Guard. Milliner isn't a #2 prospect, and there's arguably better fits for the system that Gus eventually wants later in the draft.

Draft Geno and give Gabbert every chance to prove he's the Drew Brees to Geno's Phillip Rivers before handing it over.

I hope we pick up a RT in FA so I don't have to worry about us going OT at 2. That is my fear right now.
