I think it would be better to keep it in this thread so we can look back at what we wanted.

Cool thread! I wish I would have partaken. I know I would have taken Josh Norman, who I really liked, and Lavonte David as well (I believe I had him in my mock in 2nd round). Good call detfan.

I would have never traded up for Whitehead. So much talent we missed out on this year because of that stupid trade.

I wanted Jenkins and wanted nothing to do with Adams.

Well last year I felt strongly that I didn't like Mayhew's draft. Can't say that at all this year, I'm fine with what they've done.

I just wish we wouldn't have traded away our 4th round selection in last year's draft, that really hurt considering the available talent this year in that round.

This is my take at this point. I will admit, I was not pleased with the Slay pick at the time and was really ticked they didn't take Warford. So I was stoked we got him in the 3rd.

1) Ansah: Given who was there and that we wouldn't have gotten much in a trade down, I do think we made the right pick. Will boom or bust. However, trading up for Fisher or Joeckel was not worth it.

2) Slay: Was not happy at the time, however I am good with it now after reading more about him. He also seems like a good quality guy and had to mature after having his son at such a young age. Liked how he brought him out on the stage.

3) Warford: Who I wanted in RD 2. Love this pick.

4) Taylor: Solid value. I've seen him mocked to us a number of times. He could develop into a solid rotational guy.

5) QUESSENBERRY: Steps in as developmental OL.

6) KENJON BARNER: Excellent speed, multi-faceted. Could've slid in at KR/PR. He measured out better than Best on Sports Science. Solid insurance for Bush.

6) Michael Williams: I don't know much about him but I've heard good things regarding him and he he'll fit the team.

7) JORDAN POYER: Projected as a 2nd-3rd round pick, he'd be awesome value at this point and force one of the 3 picks from last year to separate themselves.

7) D'Arick Rogers/Tony Jefferson/Jasper Collins/Chase Thomas: I would've preferred to see a later round selection at WR as a developmental guy. Rogers can play but his head is the issue - however, it's a much better risk in the 7th than in the 2nd with a Young. Jefferson would've been depth behind Delmas and Quin in event either goes down.

Draft - DE, CB, OG, DE, OL, RB, TE, CB, WR/S/LB - Get bigger on both sides of the line, some speed at skill positions and depth/developmental guys at others. Get the specialists in UDFA period unless they're really special.

This is my favorite redo from 2012. The first three would be really good players imo the two last selections would of helped the depth on at CB imo, Dennard prolly would of started. The Peterman solution would be dealt with a year early, and now this year it'd be Riaola solution with Konz sliding over to C and Warford at RG(COULD YOU IMAGINE).

No money spent on Bush cause Miller would of likely won the starting role last year leaving no question marks in the offseason.

This was just a solid redo if this is how you'd of done it. I tried to find mine and I didn't do one... SMH. Heck. Not talking

This year I'd of done...

Quote:
5th- Chance Warmack OG. Alabama.

36th- Arthur Brown LB. Kansas State.

65th- Larry Warford OG. Kentucky.

132nd- Jesse Williams DT. Alabama.

165th- Ricky Wagner. OT. Wisconsin.

171st- Kenjon Barner. RB/KR. Oregon.

211st- Michael Williams. TE. Alabama.

245th- Marc Anthony. CB. California.

Victory!

I have been unmotivated to do a redo mock this year as I was soo pleased with out draft. I suppose using hindsight it would look something like this.

1. OC Jonathan Cooper-Open holes for Bush and keep Stafford vertical.
2. RE Tank Caradine-Take advantage of scheme and hopefully leads.
3. RG Larry Warford-See Cooper
4. P Jeff Locke-Hate it but special teams is important
5. K Dustin Hopkins-We have been spoiled by Hanson, Hopkins eases the transition.
6. RB/KR Kenjon Barner-Insurance on Bush and imediate role on special teams.
*package 199 and 211 for 181 and a future 7th
6- LE Cornelius Washington-Rotates with Jones and Young at LE
7- WR Da'Rick Rogers- He could be our #2 WR opening day.

Ideally this would be teamed with grabbing Abraham or Freeney to rotate with Caradine as he heals fully.

I like our draft but here is how I would have done it:

1 - Jonathan Cooper, OC
2 - Robert Woods, WR
3 - Larry Warford, OG
4 - Quanterus Smith, DE
5 - Cornelius Washington, DE
6 - Kenjon Barner, RB
6 - Jordan Poyer, CB
7 - Michael Mauti, LB
7 - Jasper Collins, WR

I think our CB need was overblown and this would give us such a nasty interior line for years. Two high potential DEs, a true #2 WR and depth at WR. I also think Poyer is this years Dennard in that he dropped to the 7th but will show he should have gone sooner.
