He was a QB who wasn't Andrew Luck, so anyone who didn't vote Weeden, Tannehill and RGIII as "potential" bust candidates doesn't understand football... _________________

Personally feel like RGIII is more apt to bust than Tannehill...Tannehill is just going to take TIME. I don't see any NFL aspects in RGIII's 2011.

I would say he does have a better chance to bust then the first 2 QB's taken. Although, all 3 have pretty good personalities, the right mentality and the physicall tools. I think all will be good starting QB's. I don't see any Leaf's in this group. _________________ GO BULLS! |

i dont think he will be a bust, he has a chance to be great or he could just be an alright qb. In any case he will still have justified being the 8th pick, and a better qb option than we have had in the past decade. _________________

| There is no way Tannehill is more likely to be a bust than Poe or Coples. |

RG3 has the biggest shot to bust, then Weeden. Tannehill is the second safest. The only thing is RG3 potential is so big. He could be a weapon like the NFL has ever seen. I love him as a prospect, but he has huge bust potenital. _________________

Ireland has a lot of faults but I will say that since he has been our GM, he hasn't had a bad 1st round pick.
Jake Long=games best offensive lineman.
Vontae Davis=top 10 corner
Jared Odrick=solid lineman who can play several positions and had 6 sacks as a role player last year. Extremely excited about him this year.
Mike Pouncey= Arguably our most efficient lineman last year with Long battling injuries. He probably ranks in or just out of the top 5 centers
While this proves absolutely nothing about Tannehill, it does make it easier to have some faith. Nothing wrong with a project QB that projects to be a bit like Aaron Rodgers or Jake Locker depending on who you ask. Only time will tell. |

Say what you will about Tannehill, but the numbers are against him succeeding. The stats just overwhelmingly make him a long shot, but not as long of a shot as a 2nd round QB or later. I think Tannehill is expected to need time to grow because the assumption was he wouldn't be stepping into the same offense he ran a few months ago. Now, I suspect he will be asked to step up sooner than later. I am fine with that. I think it will press the issue. If he steps up and shows promise, great. Maybe we have someone to build around. If not, we can pull the plug on Ireland and get another GM in place.
This changing over and over again of the head coach is exhausting. It used to be that coaches could simply take talented players and try and win. Now coaches need "system guys" to win, and the team is gutted every couple of years and no foundation is retained. Its a mess.
Bust or not, Tannehill will be the wagon to witch Ireland has hitched his horse. I feel like we win either way he goes. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. I'm hoping that Tannehill can come through big time for us and be that franchise Pro Bowl caliber QB, but my eyes tell me no and my head is screaming bust alert because I still don't see any proven QB developers in place.
He has the arm and good mobility within the pocket as well as escapability and foot speed, but even in his Draft highlights they show him throwing ( and completing ) into double coverage and that's a throw that's going the other way in the NFL. His decision making is questionable at best and terrible when the games put on his shoulders and that doesn't say franchise QB to me. In contrast for those clamoring that RG3 is a bust, how'd he perform with the game on his shoulders? |

TBH, I thought Coples is the most likely to bust. I haven't been this pleased with a Jets pick since Mark Sanchez. In my opinion, the Bills and Jets both had poor drafts. New England did well in the first round, then was kinda bad after that.
Based on our weak schedule (including New York and Buffalo) we could probably pull off a wild card this year. I just see so many bad teams on the schedule and the defense was elite in the second half of last year (as was Reggie Bush). We'll probably get swept by New England again though, their offense is just too damn good and I think they've finally improved their pass rush. _________________ "well, they got X player I wanted but they clearly overpaid" is the battle cry of bitter and ignorant football fans

I like Tannehill a lot but right now I am 50/50 on if he is a franchise QB or not. I feel he will be better then Henne was but that might not be saying much.
Tannehill is in as good of a situation as he could be to succeed with the coaches that will be working with him.
If Miami makes the playoffs this year with Moore then Tannehill is at least 2 years away as a starter so that is plenty of time to learn. If Miami follows the Sparano trend and loses 4 or 5 of their first 8 games I say throw him in the game the last half of the season and let the OJT get started for the 2013 season. |
