God I am just so ready for next Saturday. Genuinely excited to see Fernando snapping the ball to Locker. Never been happier about an injury to be completely honest. _________________

I tired to get that going last year with very poor results. Hopefully it works out better for you! It's such an obvious and brilliant nickname. |

I sig bet anyone on this forum, that if Amano starts game 1 this year, he WILL make the pro bowl, or at least be selected for it if its not played. | I would make this bet, but as the founder of the Fernando Velasco Fan Club, I refuse to acknowledge the possibility that Amano starts game 1. |
Well this is clearly my favorite post of this thread.
What we have learned is that, if you truly hate a player, you need to form a fan club supporting his competition. And everything will work itself out from there. In even simpler terms:
1. Form Fernando Velasco Fan Club
2. Eugene Amano Gets Hurt
3. ?????
4. Profit _________________

| Quote: | Fernando Velasco started training camp at right guard, competing with Leroy Harris.
He’ll finish it at center, most likely as the team’s starter on opening day against the Patriots.
On Monday, Velasco lined up across a big man in Falcons defensive tackle Jason Babineaux, and held his own. |
| Quote: | | “I think it helps Fernando a ton,’’ Coach Mike Munchak said of the competition vs. the Falcons. “I think it helps the line, we know the direction we are heading right now and going against other people. So this is the next step and I think this was good for the whole line, good for Fernando. He can get used to (left guard) Steve Hutchinson — he hasn’t been next to him much. So this was good.” |

Really think he is basically locked in to the starting center spot at this point. _________________

After a few initial struggles, Velasco is starting to come into his own. Gonna hit the ground running (get it!) when the Patriots come to town. _________________

No, more like you make sure Ruskie picks up a player who will be lost for the season.
Eugene Amano this year.
Kenny Britt last year.
Pretty sure someone else the previous year. _________________

Let me be the first to say - dude sucks as well. Got abused today. Could have replaced him with Amano and wouldn't tell the difference. _________________

0021 that's across the line. To call him the new Amano is one thing, but you're straight up trolling to call him the Michael Griffin of centers. I'm sorry but I've got to report this post. |

Sorry, I don't see a Pro Bowl center in him. _________________

The problem isn't the C... its the G next to the C.
Theyshifted the problem from the left side to the right side... I guess in hopes that lining him next to our best run blocker would help...
It hasn't. I still think the best move would be moving Velasco to LG and Matthews to C... its not too late... _________________

Leroy Harris was just indescribably bad. Just blown off the line, missing blocks and pretty much being bad at every aspect of the game.
I really wanted to believe that Harris would improve by not playing next to Amano. He didn't. Honestly, Velasco wasn't terrible today..not great, but against a strong defense he really didn't stick out like Harris did. Over and over again. _________________

I've maintained that the problem was never really Amano. He's not the type yo biuld your line around... but he's a solid complimentary piece. His play didn't drop off until he was shifted to C started playing next to Harris.
I think playing next to Harris will yield the same results to Velasco. He's not great by any means, but he's going to perform and look a lot worse playing next to our current RG. _________________
