Impressive distance but he's only at 50% accuracy so I see why teams might shy away from him. |

At this point, do you think more people think Walsh is the better kicker, or Zuerlein after last week's performance.
While Walsh hasn't kicked as many FGs (its what, Walsh 12/13 to Zuerlein 15/18?), both have done fantastic jobs so far. _________________

Chicks dig the longer ball with the cool nickname, so they probably like Legatron better. _________________

Walsh was 16/17 coming into the game and leaves it the same way. _________________

The commentators mentioned that Walsh leads the league in touchbacks. Any truth to this? _________________

Zuerlein - 17/20 on FG's; 21TB's on 34 KO's
Tucker - 14/15 on FG's; 24 TB's on 37 KO's _________________

Blair Walsh was perfect again on four field goals and had six touchbacks. Walsh seemed to be kicking higher and shorter but Detroit returner Stefan Logan was hesitant to bring the ball out and had two returns for 36 yards, both time bringing the ball out of the end zone giving the Lions' worse field position than had Walsh simply booted the ball out of the end zone.

Last Sunday, Blair Walsh set the franchise record for touchbacks in a season with 41. Seeing as he has six more games to go, the only competition he may have for the next decade is himself.

A quick google search turns up that Billy Cundiff tied Mitch Berger's NFL single-season record of 40 touchbacks last year against the Bengals.
If that is true, then Walsh actually broke the all-time season record for touchbacks.
Not really an amazing feat, considering the change in kick-off distance the record was bound to be broken pretty soon.
Yet with so many games to spare, you have to wonder whether Walsh wouldn't have broken record using the old kick-off distance as well. _________________

If the old rule was still in play, he'd probably be kicking 5 yards deep into the endzone most of the time. Right now most of his kicks already go out of the back of the endzone, making it unreturnable.
its hard to say if he'd have such an impressive season if thats the case. I think alot of KRs would still try to return on a kick thats halfway through the endzone. Atleast they would have a chance. _________________

Not in the regular season, the Bengals was game 16 for the Ravens. I wasn't aware they counted play-off games as well.
Still, Walsh should be able to clear 44 in one or two games. _________________
