You guys keep talking "elite blocker", and I keep reading scouting reports that he's not a great inline blocker.......I think you need to maybe rethink your expectations some, at least in the beginning. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Uhm, no
Tony G has more than 3 NFL seasons under his belt, he's also a bit faster I think. _________________

Sorry thought you were just posting their first 3 seasons. Took a guess without looking up any stats. _________________

| Seriously, who cares? What's done is done. At the end of the day, all that matters is that he performs. Here's a question, if 10 years from now, Ellison is somehow winding up a career that gets him into the Ring of Honor, or he just becomes a solid, dependable 10 year player, are people still going to moan about him being picked too early? Draft value matters to a point, but when you're talking about 4th round draft picks, you just take guys who can do what you want them to do and hope they give you something extra. By most accounts, Ellison will make the roster and be a pretty decent contributor. Do you expect more from a 4th round pick in his rookie season? |

Nope, if he's got a 10 year career, it was a great pick. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

Matt Kalil has the chance to play next to former Southern California tight end Rhett Ellison, who the coaches say is one of the big surprises of the exhibition season and will play a lot this year as a rookie.
Kalil: "Yeah, a college teammate -- and it has been fun having him be drafted onto the same team; he's a great player. He's doing well. He's going to be here for a long time. The chemistry is there after playing four years in college together and being on the same NFL team. He's a great player, and we work well together."

| With expectations for a breakout season for Rudolph, while Ellison keeps shining as he has, what if John Carlson is released? Maybe not now, but at the end of the year. Ellison has really been an exceptional player thus far and is obviously much cheaper than Carlson. |

With how much we use TEs, I don't see that happening. _________________

Probably not for 2012, but maybe down the road in a year or 2, seeing how Ellison and Rudolph come along. Its not hard to find a #3 TE. For now, its a position to feel good about. |
