We get our OG! Just in the late 4th, not late 1st.
He will provide competition for Daniel Kilgore at RG. Perhaps may even start.. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

^ don't forget about Alex Boone... who I suspect they very much want to find a starting spot for.
ESPN has Looney as a 3rd rounder. The write-up on him looks good.
high football IQ
hard worker
good anchor and nimble feet
well respected leader _________________

| Just for the record. We traded our 4th (125) and the 6th we just got from Miami (196) to move up to this pick. Still have more picks than roster spots so I expect another deal to move up or to get future picks. |

That line at wake forest was pretty abysmal, so for us to move up and get him must mean that we are confident it wasn't on him. Good value here. I don't think he can come in and start right away even over an unproven player like kilgore, but if he can stay healthy he may work his way into the lineup eventually _________________

When we were on the clock at 97, I though this was someone we should look at. Now we got him and some extra ammo as well. Good pick. _________________

Don't know anything about him. Reading that he seems more of a fit for a zone blocking scheme. Interesting prospect, going to watch a little bit of highlights before I criticize or applaud it.. _________________

Love what I am reading about him from Sideline Scouting. Really sounds like he'd fit well in Jim's offense. _________________

| Quote: | | Looney said he worked out in January in Atlanta with former 49ers offensive lineman Jeremy Newberry, who works for Octagon Sports, which represents Looney. Newberry, of course, played center for San Francisco, and Looney said he's lined up there, too, most recently at the Senior Bowl. |

No it doesn't oldman. It says he got into the line-up at LG when the center got injured, and the LG slid over. His only experience at C was at the Senior Bowl, before his own injury. _________________

Ah... my mistake. |
I made the same earlier, I just didn't post it.
I really hope this guy can become a C, though. I think he'd be perfect. But, we did take him as a G (on the draft card), so the plan is probably to have him compete with Kilgore.
I really think Goodwin was a liability last season. He was our worse lineman not named Chilo (Chilo being our worse (and best) lineman named Chilo). _________________
