I hope he works hard, i just think he will be a solid backup at best | Really? I think he actually has potential as an NFL starter. His height is scary to be sure, but he's incredibly smart and has a very good arm. |
he can't pass from the pocket, he'll be a rich man's seneca wallace at best IMO. He didn't impress me in the rosebowl at all, he was solid...but didn give me a second thought | Wisconsin has a great OL and good RB, but it's not like he had impressive WR's or TE's to pass to. |
he had an elite oline and RB, plus nick toon....he doesn't really get a pass from me | Montee Ball certainly isn't elite. |
he is at the college level | So are 20 other RB's. _________________

I really hate what you guys have done this far. Not looking forward to playing against these kids in the future... Jerks. _________________

I believe it will be Josh Portis who will be gone. Any decision on TJack will almost certainly depend on camp and preseason first. They will want to be sure that Flynn can run a full fledged offense first.
Russell Wilson always was going to be a value pick as a backup QB--if he can play. Tho' really, thinking about it...If Wilson can play, he's almost certain to be eventually better than Flynn, in a Brees/Vick style format. If Wilson can't play, I'm not sure he could hold onto a roster spot any better than Pat White or Joe Hamilton could... |

This move confused me...
We already have 2 mobile QB's on the roster AND a franchise (potential) QB...WHY???? _________________

He is the 2nd best passer in the draft. Height is the only thing keeping him out of the 1st round. _________________

Potential key word. T-jack has one more year on deal and we owe him 4 Mil...he is gone. Wilson is a winner...bring him in to push Flynn, and if Flynn doesnt work out, we have a legit backup. _________________

Rams fan and UW alumnus here:
The height is obviously a big thing, and I don't really wanna get into whether Wilson can make it at 5'11.
All I know is that if he can't make it as an under 6 footer, nobody can. He came into Madison, learned the playbook in a month, and set the NCAA efficiency record. Nobody was better, and if he was 6'4", he'd probably be an Indianapolis Colt right now.
Just saying I'll be rooting for him...for 14 games a year. I love the pick. _________________

Badger fan here. You guys are going to love Russell. Even if he isn't your starter, he's going to make guys better. He's one hell of a teammate and an excellent locker room presence. If anything, he'll help make Matt Flynn better and develop his work ethic even more.
Consider me a fan of the 'Hawks. _________________

You guys know Portis can hit the practice squad again, right?
Who knew we'd get so much attention for our 3rd round pick of a backup QB
Seriously though, I love Russell Wilson. One of the more elite skillsets of any QB in this draft.
You know he's gonna work his butt off as a Seahawk. _________________

No disrespect, but Hamilton and White both came from spread offenses where they lived out of the shotgun. Wilson played at both Wisconsin and NC State out of the west coast (which Bevell/Seahawks) at least attempt to run. He is built for the west coast and has all the build (large hands so the ball won't slip, and decent mobility) to succeed. I think you guys will be very happy with Wilson. He is not anything like Wallace as he is a passer, and not an athlete playing QB. This pick will be one of your better picks from this draft. Good Selection right here _________________
