I would have preferred them staying put and selecting Rueben Randle. _________________

Would you rather have Randle or Posey and Crick? _________________

I think Crick was taken at our original slot, and we also gave up a 7th round selection in the deal. The real deal would be Randle and a 7th for Posey and Brooks. Personally I really liked Randle and know very little about Posey or Brooks, so I am thinking I would have been just as happy with Randle and the 7th. _________________

Brooks was a 3rd rounder.
Our 4th rounders were Jones, Martin, and Crick. Even if Crick was our original slot you have to figure he's the one we wouldn't have taken since we obviously wanted the others more.
And I also didn't think Randle was anything special. _________________

Pick #126 was indeed the pick that we acquired from the Bucs as part of the trade. It's always hard to say what would have happened, but I didn't see anything spectacular in Randle, nor do I in Posey. With the order in which WRs were taken, there doesn't appear to be a true consensus on rankings. Randle may go on to have a better career, but that is at least partially due to the system he's moving into with the Giants. I can see the point, though. Randle has #1 WR potential, and I don't really see that in Posey. |

Why Marvin Jones? They are the same speed. Posey has a bigger frame. Posey is more athletic. Posey is by far the better route runner. Posey had much, much better production in college. _________________

He isn't a flashy player but he seems like a savvy player. I think his two best qualities are his hands and his awareness. Those are probably the two traits Jacoby Jones lacks the most. At times Jones would drop passes or just seem unaware of the ball or where he was supposed to be. Posey seems like he knows where the ball is and how to position himself to make the catch. _________________

Also, AmazingAndre, how can you possibly call Posey a reach and then advocate taking a player in the 2nd round who went in the late 6th round? That would have been a much larger reach to take Jones than it was to take Posey in the 3rd. Remember, we traded down to get Posey, we didn't think we was worth a late 2nd. Had we taken him with the 56th pick then I think you can say it was a reach but as a 3rd rounder, its not a reach. He played well at Ohio Sate. Jones would have been a reach in the 2nd or the 3rd. He would have been a massive reach in the 2nd. _________________

Last season:
Marvin Jones, 62 receptions for 846 yds.
Devier Posey, 12 receptions for 162 yds.
I know Posey didn't play most of the season because of suspension but doing stupid stuff to get yourself suspended should count against you as well. You can't be productive if your not on the field. |
