And this is the appropriate response. Coaches should be proud of their players' intensity, but not at the expense of their behavior and professionalism. _________________

Ok ok, so he's my new favorite player.
He has greatness written all over him. Damn you Spielman for your drafting skills proving me wrong up and down. Grrrrrr. _________________ 2017 - In Zimmer We Trust.

Harrison Smith said he didn’t lose sleep wondering what his punishment would be. He just expected the worst.
Smith: “I anticipate the worst in most things. Because then you can’t be disappointed. I’m just happy to get back on the field. That’s the main focus. It definitely makes you realize how much you love the game. And how much you want to take advantage of every opportunity you get to get on the field. So it kind of puts it in perspective, just how lucky I am to be a part of the Vikings and even play in the NFL. It just makes you realize how great it really is.”

Harrison is becoming one of my favorite player - I love this kid. He is doing work out on the field and it always seems like he is in on every play. And then he gets in a little trouble, and says and does all the right things. This kid has a bright future with this team! _________________

I think you have to put Andrew Luck in there too. He has been having a very quiet rookie year, relative to RGIII and I think Luck's team will be better in the end. Luck hasnt been as impressive statistically as RGIII but he should easily be top 5 in ROY. |

that actually puts Smith 2nd in the defensive ROY race. Can't complain about that. If he continues his current play and happens to add a few INTs to his resume then he will definitely be in consideration for DROY atop seasons end. |

In his appearance on ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike in the Morning, which was broadcasting live from Notre Dame’s campus on Friday morning, Ron Jaworski praised the Vikings defense by explaining that several veterans were playing well and are being complimented by one rookie who has been impressive through his first five games.
“Defensively, when I watched them this week, they just jumped out at me,” Jaworski said. “Obviously they have Jared Allen, Kevin Williams playing great inside. I mean Chad Greenway is flying around making plays all over the field. Antoine Winfield is a wily, old veteran that is healthy this year.
“But that guy that flashed to me, and I know you’re at Notre Dame this morning, but Harrison Smith has been making plays all over the field. A tremendous leader, plays with great discipline.”

Lions fan here coming in peace...I really wish we picked this kid with the 22nd pick. Liked him at ND and he is showing that he can be a stud Saftey in the league. I know Barron got all the hype, but I think will have the better career. Great pick. |

Not a good game for Smith. Stupid horsecollar penalty, and he also took a wrong angle on GIII's touchdown run.
Dropped a potential pick as well, though that was a really hard catch. _________________

Smith's pick 6 INT was the scoring difference in the game today, but did you see his mad stork dash back and forth between offensive players trying to stop him? impressive balance and footwork.
AND... he won't be fined for anything he did on the way to the endzone. _________________

According to 1500ESPN guys, our first pick-6 by a DB since 2007, the same year Harrison had his last pick-6. _________________

Smith really has been the Vikes ROY so far, he has really helped solidify the back end. Hopefully the Ints will come once he develops those instincts in this scheme. |
