Thats all well and good that we look like winners, but we still have 6 rounds guys. Lets see what happens.
Oh and yall remember when the Saints supposedly were the big time winners after last years 1st round. uhh yea that didnt turn out so good so far. _________________

Terrific pick - we've needed a safety since Darren Sharper left. anyway, we now have one - this guy looks the part to take away those TE's for starters and then reek havoc throughout the secondary.

A great pick to continue to fix the secondary.
CBs; Winfield, Cook and one of the newly signed CBs.
S: Smith and ???
This is a work in progress, but an intelligent S is one key piece to rebuilding the worst pass defensive backfield in the NFL in many years.
I've said it before, but it needs to be repeated; some players are play-makers, but teams also need players who can prevent the opponents play-makers from making plays. _________________

I have warmed up even more to this pick. I just hope we get a WR, then I will shut my negative butt up. I'm dying here. _________________ Welcome to Minnesota, Greg Jennings.

Come back Saturday, at the end of the 4th round and you'll get your wish.
I predict LB or DT in round 3. _________________

That's my fear.
Anywho, it is nice to finally have a competent safety in the backfield. The last 2 or 3 to come out of ND have all been good, not elite, but good. Smith seems to be a little bit more prepared then the last two. Tom Z and the other guy escapes me at the moment. _________________ Welcome to Minnesota, Greg Jennings.

I was wrong about the DT or LB in round 3. Missed the ball completely on Robinson, who is a project, but the Vikings have a year before they will compete in the playoffs, so...
Kendricks is an unknown to me, as someone who only knows the top 1 or 2 rounds players. IF he is still available, would he be a fit for MN's TampIndyMinny Cover 2? _________________

Despite adding former Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith with the 29th pick overall, Frazier said veteran free-agent safety Husain Abdullah is still a possibility to return to the Vikings.
Frazier: “We have an offer out on the table. He hasn’t moved on it. We’ve had an offer on the table for a while."

I still think we'd be better off if we get another cb, if there is 1 worth which ever pick, and move Winfield to safety to pair with Smith. Everyone keeps saying that the safety's are more important in our defense then the corners anyway. Put our 2 best db @ safety then. We'd maybe have safety's that can tackle. |
