Welcome to the 2012 NFL Draft!
Greetings denizens of the Footballs Future Cleveland Browns Forum. As you are no doubt aware, we love the NFL Draft here at FF and this is our busiest time of year. This thread, which I will open Wednesday ~6:30PM EST for discussion, will be the (potentially first) home for your discussion of the first round here in the Cleveland Browns Forum. This thread will be for general discussion for the NFL Draft.
If this is your first time with FF during the draft, or if you have forgotten, this is our biggest day of the year. FF will become loaded with draft discussion and fans who are excited about their picks. With that in mind, here are some things you need to remember:
1. The Forum will slow down. Every year we get more and more fans who log on to discuss the draft, as such this forum will slow down. And so I offer you the following pieces of advice:
A. Bookmark any threads/forums you want to pay close attention to. The front page will likely revert to from its normal look to a sleeker one, as such it can be difficult to find a thread or forum you are looking for. So, bookmarking this, and other threads, will allow you to quickly browse key threads without taking forever to find them.
B. Be Patient. Sometimes things will take a little while to load, don't post 8 times to avoid slowing things further.
2. Please Follow these following guidelines. They are not rules but you do not want to make EZ and angry EZ.
A. Don't post the same thing in 8 different threads. We want conversation but posting "Brandon Weeden is a sexor beas" in 5 different places does not help encourage conversation.
B. Avoid posting pictures. Pictures drag down the forum's speed. This goes double for spam pictures, IBL, cute cat pictures etc. These are not allowed generally on the forum, doubly so for NFL Draft time.
C. I will post a thread for each pick as they happen, those threads will be for discussing each pick.
3. Follow the Forum Rules. This is not an option, or a suggestion.
Thanks everybody, and have a great draft! _________________

I have yet to see any confirmation that Jim Brown is announcing our pick at #4. Either it was a nasty false rumor, or the Browns are doing their best to keep it under raps until the time comes.
I imagine that the speculation would run rampant that Jim Brown would undoubtedly be there to announce the pick of Richardson.
It would be epic, to say the least. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Yay the sandbox is open to play in! I call the Orange shovel!
Doesn't Goodell make all of the round 1 pick announcements?
Side note: I think it was The OBR who leaked out that info... that could be the case because they do have some sources close to the team.
And yes. It would be epic. _________________

| From my understanding they are letting team alumni announce the team's 2nd round picks. I believe Goddell will still announce the 1st round and give out his celebratory hugs and handshakes. |

Yeah, it's been reported and confirmed that Gary Collins will be announcing our 2nd round pick. The rumor about Jim Brown started on Sirius radio, but I haven't seen anything in print, so I'm guessing it's fiction. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Day one? I think we have to move up to 3 to get richardson. If so its a no brainer, go for it. I really have no idea what were gonna do with the 22 which I think will make the daft that much mre exciting to watch. _________________

I think Minny is throwing our rumors to make us THINK we have to move up, but i doubt it.
I love Trent, but if it means us pulling a Butch Davis and sending a 2nd or 3rd rounder for one spot, no thanks. _________________

I mean if Blackmon is worst case, I still won't be that mad. Dude can ball.
I still think we get Trent. _________________

Like i said, not mad lol.
I think it would be dumb for Tampa to trade up for a RB. Blount is no slouch and their running game is probably that teams strength. They had the worst defense in history and Talib is in big trouble. Staying at 5 for Claiborne makes sense. Only thing i think they would trade up for is Morris himself.
Also, the Rams disputed the Steven Jackson talk so I think they stay put. _________________

Yea this scares me too....but from a lot of what I am hearing, not sure if its their FO playing smokes and mirrors, but it seems they are interested in trading down...in fact according to Mel Kiper (I think) pretty much teams all the way down into about 14 or so are trying to trade down...
I know the Bucs really like TRich as well, but, would it really be smart to trade draft picks that they need to move up and get TRich when they can just sit at 5 get BPA and pick up Miller or possibly Martin in the 2nd? I think Miller or Martin with Blount would be a nice duo....I don't think trading picks to get TRich will gurantee them playoffs...especially if their new HC can't get their players to want to play |

McShay's latest. The whole thing is premium, which I don't have. An ESPN insider can correct me if I'm wrong, but this part has been leaked:
1. Luck
2. RG3
3. Claiborne
4. Richardson
5. Kuechly
6. Kalil
Kuechly at #5. How about that.... _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Does anyone else think that there is a chance we move up with our 22 and 37? I could see us moving up in the mid teens to take a crack at selecting Floyd, Reiff, or DeCastro, anyone else? _________________
