Who is opposite of Sanford. Harrison Smith?
I am not surprised to see Sanford with the first team, may as well let the younger players prove they are better than Sanford, which hopefully the team will realize soon enough. |

That is what I thought would be likely. let the rookies push for a starting job as backups first. I think Raymond keeps his starting spot, but I cant see Sanford beating out Smith (or Blanton for that matter). |

That catch in particular was fantastic, but more importantly the deep threat between Simpson and Ponder was open all morning long and Ponder was noticing. It didn't take long for Ponder to begin finding Simpson open on back to back plays, making it obvious that the young quarterback and wide receiver are starting to build a special rapport on the field.
Toby Gerhart: "He made the sickest catch. Simpson jumped right over the DB and caught it above everybody!"
Leslie Frazier: "Anybody that witnessed that play today is going to get pretty jacked up!"
Christian Ponder: "Jerome looks good. He finds ways to get open and he's so fast and runs great routes. I think he's really starting to understand what he's doing and we're definitely building chemistry. It was crazy, he plucked it right off the guy's (Chris Cook's) head!"

| I don't know but it didn't look all that spectacular. In fact, I thought Ponder's catch (of the snap) was more difficult and smooth. |

That was Cook? I assumed it'd be someone like Bowman, but jeez. Either Cook has a ways to go or Simpson is just that good. _________________

I think Simpson is that good. If you watch it closely, Cook was putting his hands out for the pick, but Simpson wrapped his hands around Cook's helment to grab the ball before Cook could get it.
Also remember that Cook is 6'2". _________________

right, that's what the commentators all said - that Cook, and it was Cook, played the ball perfectly and was in position to steal it, and Simpson snatched it away from him at the last possible moment.
Cook is in the white #20 jersey. Simpson (wearing white gloves) has both of his hands on either side of Cook's head, and swipes the ball from him right in front of his face:

Bill Musgrave: “He’s just what the doctor ordered for the Viking offense. He’s an explosive guy who can really adjust and adapt to the football. And it’s really fun watching him after the catch, which is a skill he demonstrated for the whole league last year when he was with Cincinnati.”

WR Jerome Simpson officially has been suspended only three games by the NFL, the league announced today. Along with the suspension, Simpson will be fined a game check.
Simpson will miss games against the Jaguars, Colts, and 49ers. He’ll be suspended after the final preseason game, and he’ll be able to return the day after the contest against San Francisco.
