| Quote: | It feels like just yesterday we were on Revis Watch. Could we be headed there again?
Back in the summer of 2010, Darrelle Revis' 35-day holdout ultimately led to a front-loaded, four-year, $45 million contract for the New York Jets' perennial All-Pro cornerback.
And now Revis is unsure if another holdout is ahead.
"I just don't know. I'm not saying I am going to hold out. I'm not saying I'm not," Revis told the New York Daily News on Monday.
"Right now, my focus is being on the team," Revis said, but his agents are busy at work:
"(They're) going to do the best for me and try to do what's best for me. It's my career, and I'm in control of it, what I can do," Revis told the New York Post. "I know I'm under contract. We'll hash that out when the time comes." |

Was just about to post this. I'm not gettin' it. If he does holdout, it couldn't come at a worse time for the Planes. _________________

He'll hold out because he is by far the Jets best players, top 7 defender in the NFL and he has all the leverage. There is no way the Jets are going into the season next year without him. I think Revis and his agents understand they could very easily get more money out of the Jets, so why not force their hand?
I think it's a bogus move, but with that being said Revis holds all the cards. The Jets absolutly need him to stay in the hunt for the playoffs. _________________ Adopt-a-Brown: Jabaal Sheard - Stats:

For the first time I don't feel bad that the Jets jumped the Steelers and stole Revis. This is crazy. _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

| When are teams going to learn that front loaded contracts are just a bad idea. Revis, Briggs, it doesn't matter. When you give them all their guarunteed money in the beginning of the contract you set yourself up for temper tantrums from talented crybabies. |

This is like the Lance Briggs situation all over again. Player gets heavily front loaded contract, gets into the years with less money and they decide they want a new one.
If I'm the Jets, I put my foot down. _________________

Exactly. Revis is a lot more money hungry than a lot of people would think. He's a selfish player as far as money and the team goes. _________________

Well, he was getting paid like he should in those early years of the contract...
He's due like 6 million this year.... for a top defensive player... _________________

Site is wrong, his base salary is only 4.5 million in 2012 and 3 million in 2013.
But he has a ton of bonus's available each year. He can make up to 11.5 million in 2012, which is more than he's made during any of his seasons with the Jets. The problem is, he doesn't want to work hard to actually get those bonus's. Or maybe he's worried he'll get injured and wont be able to obtain them. _________________
