With the 2 OTs the Packers drafted the last 2 years in the 1st round, the writing was on the wall.
Oh well, he had a good career. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't again. _________________

Surprising news.
I tend to think this has much more to do as an excuse for releasing him, Clifton was due $5.7 million in 2012. Reportedly he was feeling much better at the start of off-season workouts. We'll see what happens but I believe he'll be in a uniform in 2012.
I suppose that Derek Sherrod will be taking over LT duties? _________________ With much cheese,

One of the better pass protecting LT's over the past decade, wheels are falling off though.
I wish him luck wherever he ends up. _________________

With the money he is set to make
Clifton was a great LT for the Packers for quite some time though _________________

Looks like it could be another 1st Round OT for GB.
Sherrod looked awful last year when he wasn't injured and Bulaga doesn't have the arms or feet to be a LT. Marshall Newhouse wasn't exactly a revelation either.
I think Jonathon Martin or Bobby Massie could be the pick at 28. _________________

Bulaga could play LT all day, Martin or Massie would be way, way worse than Bulaga at LT. Plus even if Sherrod was horrible, why would we give up on him after 1 year? Are the Jags gunna take Tannehill? They should by your logic. |

Darn shame. I thought his back was getting better. I hope he continues to rehab and maybe he can return later in the season. _________________

What do you mean he was not expected to look good?- He was a 1st rd pick.
I don't think the packers need to go LT day one but they will certainly need to address it in the draft this week. This is similar to the pats situation, but even more so. The pats will also need to address the tackle position after Light retiring.
I would love to see the pats pick him up as a B/U. Let him start the year on IR. |

Hahaha wow way to just spout B.S. You clearly have no clue on Bulaga, who has the talent to play with any tackle in the nfl snap for snap. I would think it would take some time to adjust to LT but he has absolutely everything you want in a NFL tackle. Sherrod was a bit rough around the edges and I won't say he will do well this year because of the injury but much less talented tackles start in the nfl every week and he was a rookie. |

What is the matter with him starting the year on IR? They will probably do the same with Andre Carter. Last year they did it with Faulk and Cannon. By the 10th week of the season I am sure one of our olineman will be down.
The pats could give him 2 mill to ride the bench as an insurance policy. The pats and pack both run a Zone type type scheme. |
