Steve Johnson and Hammel. Both are rested, but both have a knee issue. _________________

So it comes down to Saunders and his horrible record at Arlington or rookie Steve Johnson, who has been phenomenal for us this year (4-0, 2.11 ERA, 3.46 FIP, 46 K's in 38.1 innings). Saunders is more experienced but personally I don't fear sending Steve out there. Put him on a short leash and have our long-relief guys like Arrieta, Matusz, and even Saunders on call, but I'd go with the guy who hasn't been killed at Arlington routinely. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

Go for it bro. Maybe I'm just bad luck and we need a change of scenery around here?
After this collapse I'm all for trying everything. _________________

I really hope I can go to the game tomorrow.
I also hope we don't choke. The Orioles are a darn good team, and we have been sinking for a long time now. I don't like the way those things are stacking up. _________________

Enjoy. I'm jealous. I feel better today. We should win this game Friday and I'm hoping it can help us get our confidence back and give us a little jolt that it is so obvious that this team needs right now. _________________

It was one of the worst games I've ever been to. But we still need to keep either Hamilton or Napoli.
Since Hamilton's price might be too high, I say re-sign Napoli early on so that we can still be players for the rest of the free agents out there.
Who else has a contract that is up? I know that Dempster does, but I think he's gonna return to the NL. I would love him back, but I'm sure he knows that the NL is a much better fit for him. _________________

Koji Uehara (must resign), Mike Adams, Mark Lowe, Yoshi Tateyama are all free agents, too.
I'll have a new thread up with some thoughts on what we need to do this offseason when I get home.
And I've completely changed my stance on Josh. He had a great run here but it's obvious he needs to leave. I think the FO feels the same way too. _________________

Elvis Andrus (and pieces) for Justin Upton or Carlos Gonzalez.
I'd hate to lose Elvis but when you have a guy like Profar waiting, you trade your surplus and add at a position of need.
That, or try to sign Nick Swisher (but not for $100 million like he's said he wants) _________________

I'm still against that deal. I don't want to trade Elvis. If its Olt, Perez, and then two more prospects, I would do that deal. _________________

Give Napoli $40m and resign Koji - trade Ian and Young for Upton and pieces _________________

Ian and Young wouldn't fetch a guy like Upton, not even close. _________________
