Trade up to #9 for Barron?
How much do you think it would take for something like that to even happen? A 2nd? Future 1st?
Probably about 1% chance of happening but hey a man can dream. _________________

Expected to be a top-15 pick, Barron is unlikely to fall to the Chargers at No. 18, especially with the Cowboys and Jets picking at No. 14 and 16, respectively. Atari Bigby is currently penciled in as San Diego's starting strong safety after spending 2011 as a reserve for Seattle. Barron would provide an instant upgrade to a secondary that lost Steve Gregory to free agency. |

I've been calling this for weeks. I think all of the harrison smith love was a smokescreen for the guy we really want ...barron. Read somewhere that buffalo might take him at ten but if he makes it to seattle I think its a slam dunk we trade with them. I say our 18, 3rd and 5th, then they get their guy (hightower). Don't wanna give up our second though. But outside of that I'm fine with it. I like barron, don't understand all the hate in this forum, but hes aday one starter and an immediate upgrade over who we have. You guys will change your mind when hes laying the wood to receivers and causing turnovers next year. Plus all the olbs have big question marks (yeah that includes perry who everyone knows is a better 43 fit)...and the corners (jenkins and kirkpatrick) have weed issues so forget AJ taking one of those guys....telling you it's barron, if not, we trade down |

Um no.
If he's there at 18, AJ will prob consider him but we don't need to trade up for him. _________________

You're not thinking like AJ. It may not be a good idea to trade up, but that's never stopped him in the past. _________________

If AJ really wants him, he will have to trade up. No question _________________

I came in here to see how realistic you guys thought it would be to trade up for Barron. I can promise you he isn't going to make it past #14. The Cowboys will take him there. I'm really going to be upset if you guys do make a move. _________________

So does anybody have enough faith in Green to think that OG isn't as big of a need as it's being made out to be? We know that they're going to stick with Vasquez on the other side. _________________

| I don't think Greene played all that bad, and I don't see Guard as a huge need. At this point, does DeCastro help improve our team much more than we were last year. Our big issues were defense and that's where I see this focus. I love DeCastro, but Zietler to me isn't that far behind in skill. So yah .. I'm pretty confident with Greene, or have convinced myself that I should be. |

It doesn't matter who you put next to Gaither he will destroy the enemy defensive linemen! _________________

I think Green can be pretty good if he's motivated. We could still go DeCastro, put him at RG (natural position) and see if Clary is competent with the rest of the line being so good (loljk) |

And it seems that he's been super motivated ever since he's been the starter. He's a great compliment to Gaither as well. Sounds like he's gonna go into came REALLY in condition and real strong. _________________

To be honest, I feel safer with Green than I do with Vasquez. Both are FA's after this season (and I don't believe with will qualify as RFA's under the new CBA since both will have spent 4 seasons on the active roster by the end of 2012), so I wouldn't be shocked to see a mid-to-late round pick on a guard depending on how much faith they have in Schilling to step up (though the fact that he's still being listed on the official website as a tackle isn't a great indication of that). Unless one comes on a severe bargain, I don't expect both to be with us past this season.
I've wanted, and still do to some respect, blame Clary for Vasquez's inefficiency at RG, but ultimately I don't know that he's ever going to be much more than serviceable to slightly above average... certainly someone who could be improved upon. The issue is that he plays a position that typically isn't valued highly in draft land and as such either will be challenged by diamonds in the rough or late-blooming vets (see Goff) and we don't have those on the roster presently. _________________
