Brandon Weeden?

I'm not advocating for Weeden in the first round, but besides for the fact that Weeden is 28, whats so wrong with him as a prospect?

I can guarentee Blackmon is drafted ahead of Floyd. Thank God GM's and Scouts are smarter then draftniks.

If they swapped teams last season, Floyd would be a top 5 pick and Blackmon would be a mid to late 1st rd pick.

Blackmon is the the more polished WR. He has no holes in his game and is only going to get better. He can play all 3 positions, has great hands, is a very good blocker and already runs better routes then any other WR coming out this year. When asked how the WR's in the 1st round this compare to the WR's taken last year in the first round, Casserly said Blackmon would have been the third WR taken last season but he still would have been a top ten pick. He then stated he would take Blackmon everyday over Floyd due to his game being so "complete".
Floyd doesn't block that well. He tries to run people over which isn't going to work well in the NFL. He doesn't explode of the line. He tries to bullrush defenders to get off the line of scrimmage. Add to that his broken collarbone in 09 and his knee injury in 08 and Blackmon is the safer, better pick if you are looking for a player to come in and make an impact next season. Floyd has more upside "if" he reaches his full potential. "IF" is a big word when it comes to what Floyd has already shown in terms of maturity and decession making.

I wouldn't say no holes...he drops a few easy ones here and there. He's not a fluid route runner, doesn't really gain separation in/out of breaks the fact he attacks the ball I think nullifies that but still game is a lot different in the League. He's definitely the most polished, but I think the lowest ceiling of most the WRs coming out. Give OklaSt and Mike the MAN Gundy credit they do a marvelous job in their passing game. If memory serves me correct they have had a dominate go-to WR since 07 except for 09 (D. Bryant suspension).

IMO he's a good 2-3 yrs from being a starter. That puts him @ 30, so yeah age is a factor...He certainly got better from '10 to '11 but he still has bad footwork, trusting his arm more than his mechanics. The baseball thing kind of scares me...I can't think of one QB who didn't perform in baseball but excelled @ the next level in football. I can't say its done on purpose but 90% of highlights (only highlights not games) I saw of OklaSt is Blackmon going up top with a circus catch, so his WR maybe gave him some pub...As I addressed in the Blackmon discussion, Mike Gundy is an offensive guru. I mean he got Zac Robinson drafted.

I'm not a fan of staying in place at all. I'd rather trade up for Cox or Floyd, if we can't do that at an affordable price, then we trade down. Outside of those 2 prospects, there's no one else in this draft I really feel are elite prospects at positions we need. Obviously Luck, RG3, Kalil, and Richardson are, then Claiborne arguably but corner has a lot of depth in this draft. I wouldn't trade up for Claiborne, but he is worth a top 5 pick imo.

I agree. Hopefully we could move up for either of those two without moving either of our 2nds in the process. That way we could get a SLB and either CB, WR/TE or DT with those two 2nds round picks.

Yeah, I think Coples will bust. Plus Jones come from awesome lineage.

And that's why we need to trade up to 7 to get Cox. Wink

Jeff might pick Cox at 6!

Fresno State WR/PR Devon Wylie has tweeted that he visited the Eagles facility yesterday for a pre draft workout. He's a small guy at 5-9, 187 but he's blazing fast. He ran a 4.39 at the combine and has run as low as a 4.33.

Funny how a month ago I thought that we could have gotten Cox or Kuechly at 15. Things change so quickly.

Meh, Teams look at game tape, it's just the media that pick up the hype.
